Townsville 2010 accomodation...

Heavily advertised at Sandown was the P&O Pacific Sky... offering a cruise ex-Brisbane, and accomodation on the ship while the racing is in town.

Website Here

Its an interesting concept.. seems a little expensive.. but the adventure is always more exciting than the money right?

There are a group of 20 of which My wife and I are part that are going to fly down and cruise back with this tour. Should be a great cruise. Even though we live in Townsville. As I get really sea sick this is the only way she will get me on a ship.

Actually, given that it includes:

Transport & 6 Nights Accommodation - Plus:
"... all on-board meals and entertainment, three days in a corporate marquee at the track, driver appearances and a tour merchandise pack."

It doesn't sound all that expensive (given what you'd pay for an equivalent Transport/Accommodation/Meals/Tickets etc etc package - staying on land)?

For 2 people, I would have thought $7,000 for a twin share cabin was on the pricey side.

Wotif is always your friend, as are the red ticket Qantas fares...

I can't find anything on 'that' website that indicates that the price is P.P. as against per cabin.

I'm happy to be shown the error of my ways GTR.

"Per-person prices expected to start at around $3200.00
"

5th paragraph on:
https://www.v8supercruise.com.au/dun...ville-400.html

We stayed in Hotel M on Palmer st. Fantastic hotel, on a great street. Plenty of restaurants, pubs and the street gets shut during the event for a street festival type thing. Think the rooms are classed more as apartments though. Not sure on prices, as they were fixed up by the people I went with.

Not far from the track either.

Sounds like you had a top spot, but if you had been paying for "EVERYTHING " for 6 days, do you think you could have spent $3k ??
