New World Superbike Rules
FIM have released new World Superbike rules to take effect from 2004. I read about them on www.amasuperbike.com
apparently grooved tires are the go, 4 cylinder 1000s allowed, looks pretty much like GP1 just production based. And all the manufacturers, like Ducati, Aprillia, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki Honda and Benelli have confirmed factory involvement, sounds good, but grooved tires, i don't know what to say. |

Sounds interesting at the very least. i don't like the idea of grooved tyres either.

whats wrong with grooved tyres - 600 supersports race on them and the racing is brilliant.....
superbike have to do something as gp1 is starting to move into sbk territory

Grooved tyres? Excellent news! imagine the new road tyres that will emerge from this rule change, elbow down anyone?

I'm not so sure I like the grooved tire bit either. That is something better left to the Supersport classes.
