Don Truman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Donington FIA 25th/26th/27th June

Can I say a great big thank you to all the marshals who helped us to run 3 days of 'bloody good racing'. I'm sorry the breakfast wagon wasn't there on Friday morning but the gentleman concerned (not a BRSCC member, thank god) FORGOT!!
I hope we both entertained you and fed you.
Your efforts were very much appreciated.
Stay with us!

I certainly enjoyed Sunday, working in the pits was great fun, especially with regard to the GT's which produced a close race.

The 2 days I did were great, if a little long on the Saturday. Even the 3 hour GT race was entertaining (if you could hear the PA).

It was also pleasing to hear that the Clerks were acting on the reports they were getting, even if we didn't get any feedback at the time to tell us so.

The brekky and lunch were most appreciated, along with the reception by LG.

Don,
Thanks for the Thanks.

(Even if I did have to hang around for the FIA Stewards - my fault, in the right place at the wrong time again!!!)

p.s. hope your stewarding wasn't too arduous (haha!)

Yup, a decent meeting and plenty of incident, fires, broken concrete walls, etc. Friday started a bit fraught, but it all worked itself out in the end, typical FIA meet really.

The usual after work meet at the Bull was reasonably well attented cosidering the numbers of Marshals and the LG party on Saturday was very welcome too, so thanks to those guys for providing it.

So I noticed!

Was it The Times - 'course then I'd be impressed!

But me thinks it was only The Telegraph - so I'm not!

Its time "Thepits" knew I only do the Times with the Mail on Sunday as light relief.
I would like a lot more people to say what they think about last weekend's Donington--within reason we will try to meet your wants

I felt that bearing in mind the limitations placed upon the club by
1)The location,
2)The timetable,
3)Eurosport &
4)The FIA !
"You've all done very well"

Bearing also in mind the flack the BRSCC has been getting in other quarters, this weekend proved they CAN run a race meeting!

Good practice for ELMS at Silverstone, eh Don?

It was my first time out as a marshal, and I had a great weekend, and hope to do a few more days on the bank.
Well done to all involved.

As an occasional (!) marshal and one time pit crew I thoroughly enjoyed a rare day as a "mere" paying punter on Sunday!

Spent much of the day on the infield overlooking the Old Hairpin. Plenty of action and incident - none more entertaining than lap 1 of the FRV6's! - all handled expertly by the boys and girls in orange.

A great day's racing and a fine effort keeping it all roughly to the timetable...

OK, Don, I think I've said this elsewhere, but to put it more succinctly:

1) Great racing.
2) Thanks for breakfast and lunch, much appreciated.
3) Well done with the LG hospitality.
4) Pleased to see the support for overtaking under yellows, felt a point was well made with the appropriate penalties.
5) Lousy timetable, merely because F3 filled the breaks and extended the day. Was a pointless addition (even without Piquet jr trying to kill the marshals) and spoilt what was otherwise a superb and sensible programme.
6) Brilliant work by Julian and his team in keeping the timetable well on course and with good humour too.

90% fantastic, 10% F3.

I seem to remember the Midland centre chairman commenting on the lack of rubber left on the doctor's car when he finished playing......

Enjoyed the weekend working on Donington rescue, the only thing i didn't do was rescue
Ferrari on fire and flagging on Friday, snatching on Saturday (Gear lever came off in his hand ) and a quiet Sunday.

Like others I would have like to have seen the F3's removed from the weekend.

Not necessarily, could it be that your quote to run these meetings was cheaper than anyone else's?

A little cynical I agree, but I think it was meant to be a little tongue in cheek!

Still no substitute for filling in the profile details!

Someone once accused me on here of hiding behind a pseudonym. Bit pointless since my profile tells you who I am, where to find me and even has a photo. Needless to say, my accuser was not quite so forthcoming...
