Peter Harding should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Marshals Required 28-30 May - Snetterton 24 hour 2CV

We still need more marshals for this event. Saturday is a full days racing followed by some evening 2CV practice. Sunday has some practice and 4 races followed by the 24 hour starting at 1600.
Even if you can only make half a day, still volunteer. Through BARC HQ or you can PM me and I will pass it on.

Ladies and Gents if you can help Peter with this one he would be very grateful. Numbers are low and Pater is working really hard to get a few more volunteers.

It looks like I'm going to be there - and looking forward to it (and not just because most of my exams will be over by then! - I will be revising between laps for the last one though...)
Mmmm, that's probably going to put people off, let me think of something else to say...
It'll be a cracking meeting both on the Saturday (Caterham Graduates and Classic FFord - timetable) and then the main event itself - everyone's that's done it before comments on the experience of a pack of 2CVs coming towards you in the dark, trading positions every lap without (much) contact. If you've not got anything else planned that weekend I'd seriously recommend making the effort, you won't think it was a bad idea.

Been there for the past two years and enjoyed a weekend of motor sport and the fellowship of other marshals. Its a good weekend that any new marshals should experience.
I will hopefully be there again as its about the only time I get to visit Snetterton. Peter can you please arrange the good weather again.

Is the "open sports car" races still happening, only they were a mere 6 at Donington.

2CV Racer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Very much enjoyed marshalling this event in it's Mondello days. Then went off and got into the racing side of it (even more fun!).

This is definitely an event where the more people who come along the more fun it is. It's a very different event to anthing else you'll work in the UK this year, with marshalling shifts, night time racing and 24 hours of close racing as only the 2CV's can.

Please come along if you can at all - you'll be glad you did!

(Oh and you can cheer on a fellow marshal and 10-10th'er while you're at it :-) ).

PS Peter - hopefully catch up with you at some stage over the weekend, though I do find myself quite busy once I'm there and socialising can sometimes be curtailed by work on the car etc!

Timetables have been on www.barc.net since around the start of March, although it was amended three weeks ago.

Yeah - those ones have suffered for a long time from provisionalitus. Though I have to admit I hadn't known they were updated.

Andrew - there was I thinking that as a racing mashal I had all the angles covered! Oh well .......

(And thanks for putting up the times for me.).

2CV Racer you have most of the angles covered when Marshalling, but when that switch on the back of your is tuned to driver the angles all go.

Any way look forward to seeing you at Snetterton, of course when not driving you be out on the bank with the rest of us Marshals right?

Now that I think about it, you've got that one just about right!! It's amazing what the adrenaline rush can do to your usual sensible approach to matters.

hmmmm - maybe I could write up a few overtaking reports on our closest competitors, radio in about loose body work on a few of the others, request a safety car when we're due a pit stop .... oh yes I can see lots of opportunities in double jobbing!!!

If there is a spare hog, I suggest we put him in orange and add him to the marshals list.

Seriously we could still do with 10 more volunteers to make me feel happy. Of course there are other ways to make me feel happy but we had better not go there.
