paris

i was doodling round on google maps for airports and i found this great one in paris!
look at the amount of runways! there are so many i would have to take several shots and google maps has somehow changed to full screen!
this is a challenge on how many layouts you can make from this.
enjoy!

That's Charles de Gaulle, only the busiest passenger airport in Continental Europe. No way is a race ever going to be held there.

For full disclosure, here's a full aerial of the facility.

Of course, I don't know how you missed the charter airport at Le Bourget just down the road, which is much more feasible for racing than de Gaulle.

Here is my attempt...

It runs clockwise. If it is deemed too long, there is a shorter version shown by the yellow line.

I've been a bit greedy here & had 2 tries. Not sure which one I prefer though.

(blue = long circuit)

ps. both are anti-clockwise.

Here's a go. A whopping 3.92 miles long.

Even at that, it's still shorter than Road America, so not exactly unprecedented.

Nice track, folks. And Charles de Gaulles is probably not that easy to use for racing... We could suggest rallying, though. Every car starts in between two planes.

The trouble with airport tracks, though, is that you quickly make it too long. And runways are how wide? Everybody could start on front row.
