Marshalls Safety
I've been out of marshalling for two years but have returned this year to do a dozen days or so. What I see in the pictures of the Cart event at Brands is rather interesting - a fence in front of the fence! Is that a new and permanent safety feature or was it just for the Cart?
What did people think if it? I'd be interested to know. Personally I'm not sure about it. Safety wise it's probably a good idea but I still like being able to hurl myself over a tyre wall at any place (when it's safe obviously!!) to get to an incident quickly. Gary |

The 'cage' has been the point of much discussion. It is a CART thing as far as I am aware. But I do not like it myself in the form that it is. And we will have to see if it stays.

It's never a good sign when a part of your briefing is "If anything hits that fencing, hit the deck - because it's not going to stay up".............

Gary, welcome to Ten-Tenths.
There is a rather long thread on this subject in the Champ Car Forum. Can I suggest you pop in there to read the thread rather than we all go over it again here? Regards, Stephen. |
