I'm going! I'll be in the JEC XJS Series. My Dad will be in the JEC PBJ Series. We normally do it the other way round, but we've swapped.

I'm looking forward to going to Donington again. And it's the last meet of the year.

Time table given on Donington Web site looks awfully tight

30 min race starting at 17:45 at this time of year....

Yeah, it's the race series I normally race in. It is organised by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club (JEC).

PBJ is Powered by Jaguar. Anything with a Jaguar engine. this ranges from Cs, Ds and Listers (mostly replicas - it is sponsored by Proteus). Other classes include Saloons and other sportscars. I would normally race in Class A which is 6 cylinders. Other competitors include a rebodied 140 special. I've had a decent run in it winning quite a few rounds (although last time out I was second after a spin!).

This time my Dad is racing it and I am entering the JEC XJS race for the first time.

Unfortunatly not. It's actually a few years since there was a 220 at a JCC meeting.

I think that one enters (or has entered) the AMOC Intermarque series.

Ha!

I do like Coppice, but it seemed to have something against me on Sunday!

My Dad seemed to be very happy because I had put the car on pole in the standard class. And my time for this was set after I failed to avoid another fellow ten-tenther there.

Everyone descended on the car afterwards and did a great job to rearrange the rearranged bodywork! People were lending us tools and in no time at all the car was back looking, er, almost new! Well minus a headlight and a slightly bent bumper!

And then in the race. After getting third overall! In a standard car! I locked up into Coppice and no amount of releasing the pedal seemed to get the wheels to bite again Anyway after a Schumacher-esque escape from the gravel trap I managed to still finish third in class.

Despite the missed opportunities I still have a missive smile!

Kev, where you at Coppice for all day? Not a nice day to be out there!

yes I was marshaling on coppice also doing snatch.
still trying to get dry and warm up.
I did find most of your headlight now in the bin
the red flag in the NSSCC race was called by me. trying to move westfield on the side of the track and a car used your line via the gravel

I thought there might be more grip there - which there was! Despite this I decided that line didn't really do anything for my lap time, so abandoned it. I suppose the Westfield doesn't have as much ground clearance!

A difficult day for all Marshals and Organisers.

Do you do many Jag meetings?

Adam

I will wait until next year to make judgement about Coppice
as it did seem to have something against me on Sunday! Only went around five times before we failed to avoid each other.

At least we managed to laugh about it after

Car looked good after all that hard work in repairs

PS Derek Pearce's Lister flew in the PB Jaguar until his unfortunate finish after the chequered flag.
