Grand Prix de Pau Historique 5/6 May

Looks to be a popular venue with British drivers I will be there and really looking forward to this classic venue. Anyone else?

Are you feeling fit Peter? Great place for photos but a lot of steps, climbs and sloping banks to get to the best locations on the 'right' side of the fence. You probably already know that of course.

Would love to be there but it clashes with so much this year there was no way to fit it in.

It's a real shame (well more than a shame!) that there's just too many clashes - the weekend of 5/6/7 May has the 360MRC at Snetterton (incorporating the HRDC), HSCC Donington, MGCC at Brands Hatch, CTCRC at Silverstone, Pau plus the preparation for those going to Monaco. It's madness and we are all cutting each others throats in the middle of the worst recession that Europe has ever known.
Historic motor racing is a victim of its' own success but by having such an uncordinated approach to the scheduling of meetings, it's in danger of destroying itself.

Rant over!

Agreed "The right crowd and no crowding" , which I believe was the mantra of Brooklands, has much to commend it.

No F3 at Pau 2012?

The Historique Pau website shows FFord and FJunior for 2012. Does historique/classic F3 alternate with one of these race groups?

Just a curious fan of Classic F3.

Classic F3 ran with the contempory F3 race (weekend after) last year.

I went last year and loved the place. So many good vistas, a lovely atmosphere and a hangover to end all hangovers. Classic.

If someone said to me would you like to do your very last race it would be Pau.
I hope to have a few more years in me ,so we will not worry about that for the time being.
I was having a good old ding dong with your dad a few years ago Stuart in Duncan's Carrot but got clobbered with a drive through penalty..Again

I'm flying into Lourdes airport, 50kms from Pau, does anyone happen to know, is there a train/bus connection, otherwise it's a damn long walk!

If no obvious link just go and take the waters at Lourdes Peter. I'm sure something miraculous will result. Have you considered a hire car?

Great shots available at Pau but even better if it rains (presuming you have your Media accreditation arranged).

Election day on Sunday too - could be an interesting sideshow.

Accreditation sorted but religion more mechanical than metaphysical and as I have no wish to pour any Duckhams over troubled waters maybe the hire car option is best.
