Tim Crete
I have received the sad news that Tim Crete has passed away.
Tim was the photographer for Champion Racing in its heyday and ran one of the first important sportscar websites FastDetails.com He was a good guy and will be missed by the racing community. |

Yes he was. He was a shipmate (submarine) and roommate and fellow model builder. Knew him pretty well!

Tim was something of an unsung hero in his work around the US endurance sportscar scene, which was the only way he would have it. During my time covering the ALMS at the turn of the century he was one of the constants, not always easy but usually on the money when it came to people and events. I always enjoyed our infrequent but lengthy email exchanges once he had retired from the paddocks....... ah well, all things must pass..... |
