Lol, the old Tu154 was a direct copy of the Trident. Look how long ago they stopped flying. In truth when I fly from here to the UK I use BA because, although it stops at Bahrain for 1.5hrs you get on board at 11:30 pm and arrive in the UK at 6:30am. And I tend to sleep all the way through. Qatar Airways is direct but leaves at 02:30 so you get a really disturbed night. This is the only reason why I use BA.

I've just had quite a shock, we've just been watching Wheeler Dealers where he buys a 57 Bel Air from Florida, brings it back does a bodge restoration and makes no money on it.
My wife said I should go to the US and bring a car back and restore it, quite an unusual statement from Mrs F so I expect she must have her eyes on a new horse somewhere. |

We made it! The airport is next to the circuit aka Donington only actually alongside it and the absolutely stunning view as we touched down of the whole circuit as we had to circle right over it as plane arrived early was worth the effort alone. Oh I did upgrade my rental car but when the guy said he had only one in the lot in burnt orange and 300bhp V8 with 5000 miles on the click for $20 a day extra would you have refused or took the Nissan compact? This view was when we circled round to land prior to that we banked low right over the track when the approach was aborted, that was worth big bucks to see that just wish I could have got to the camera in time!

We got to Orlando @ 4pm local time & then spent the best part of 2 hours getting through immigration as BA & Virgin arrive at same time.

BTW at Boston first point of entry I was through customs in 5 minutes flat so gained a couple of hours on you there! And I got that awesome view of the circuit as the plane steeply banked right over the top of it that was amazing.

There were comments about Russian aviation, most of their planes are probably 10 years younger than anything in the US ... there are of course plenty of old dogs still out there though ... Quote:
... just so you got the full benefit of the delays, Al .... Hypothetical question ... as Al was delayed over the weekend the clocks went back in the US ... if you are delayed through the time the clocks go back does an hour get knocked off your delay ...?! Happy Monday ... James |

Yes for once a change in clocks worked well for me as it gave me an extra hour in bed in the Atlanta hotel. Oh I forgot I did get a full body search on point of entry but I think the guy fancied me! Funny enough when I used the karsey at one airport someone who I assume must have been a customs officer had dropped his notes so I had a quick shuffty while doing my business like you do, anyhow he he pulled one guy in for a full body search and in the preprinted notes he had put a cross by 'Passenger acting nervously or too relaxed' FFS it must have been the later for me as I was just having a laugh and joke about me kegs dropping down when I removed me belt!

Went to the Cruisin Bar last night, sort of made the Ace Cafe look totally lame
. The whole place is dedicated to NASCAR and Racing at Daytona and all the walls adorned with fantastic memorabila from signed photos to full race suits, you even sit in mock up NASCARs for your meal made from actual body panels. |

Lol. Al, there are about five Hardees outlets in Doha and they all have memorabilia from Nascar. I doubt there have been that many cars built.
