A few days from now... the V8Supercar circus will be headed for the land of the long white cloud...

Who might win there?

Will BJR continue their unheralded run of form? Will 888 find their lost mojo? Will HRT keep their pace, and figure out tyrewear? Will 888 sell their test car to LDM to finish the year? Will the teev coverage talk to Murf every 2 seconds across the weekend... the answer to all of these and more arent far away..

#14 to win at 'home'?

Langers should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
They are one of the smallest teams around in terms of headcount, and all the other teams will be busy sorting themselves out... my bet is it won't be ready.

These cars are not a quick repair like the old cars. No bolt on front rails etc. much like a v8 supertourer if you have a big sack you need to go a jig a fabricate everything

Story Here

I wonder if they will achieve the 'force majeure' exemption for NZ?

If V8SC didn't have such a compressed calender at this point in the season, perhaps the team might've been able to field both its cars.

Odd that Triple Eight's test car can't be grandfathered into a registered COTF chassis. I was of the understanding that the differences were limited to a few components.

Triple 888's test mule was built early, but if they have all the available components, they could send it south to be used by LDM for NZ, after all it's a 'satellite operation'.

btw, the Qld teams only have one day to turn-round their cars, Vic teams have an extra day, and all the teams will not be back on the mainland until sometime tomorrow...so i can see the reasoning.

imagine if it was the AGP the week before the flight to NZ, then no-one would have been interested in racing.

The queensland teams are allowed to work on the cars in NZ, the second wave are not.

The home crowd should have a lot to get excited about with SVG, Fabs and Scotty Mac potential winners.

What's the view on Premat's performance this year? Seems he's been outclassed by a 19 y.o...

I think it would be highly likely, it would be mighty unreasonable if they were penalized for not showing up to NZ. Theyve still got one car left and they appear to be running that so its not like either car wont be in NZ. They're the smallest team in V8s with a new car like everyone else, theres no spare cars lying around yet, it'd be pretty poor form if they were penalized.

I'd say both. McLaughlin's done very well too but I think GRM have got a good handle on COTF so far and thats reflected in the results this year.

Yeah, really enjoying the GRM / BJR performances.
At one point I was cheering for a pass on FPR (god help me)

Well why not, much as some Ford fans are bleating, its great to see someone other than 888 or FPR winning everything, and we've got less predictability than I can remember, its great!

What's the go with the pit building?

I understand it's come from Hamilton, but does that mean that anyone else that uses them besides V8SC in future, needs to rent a marquee tent as well?

Have to say that whilst the V8 Supercars have been a bit ho-hum for a while now, i am looking forward to this weekend with new drivers and teams in the mix and a bit of ill feeling between a few of them. Bring it on !!!!

I would agree too. It was great seeing another team mix it up the front, not just for a brief period but the whole weekend.

It makes it hard to pick a winner before they hit the track.
