F5000s at Oulton Park 25th June 2011
And a few more..
1. Mike Sidgwick (ex-Scheckter Trojan T101) leads Warwick Mortimer and Aaron Burson - a good scrap until Sidgwick squeezed out Mortimer ending in retirement for the pair of them. 2. Aaron Burson (Ex-Amon Talon MR1-A). 3. New Zealander Andy Higgins (Lola T400) came away with a second from race two. 4. Another New Zealand visitor, Russell Greer (ex-Graeme Lawrence Lola T332). Seven New Zealanders are here for next weekend's Brands Superprix and the Oulton races were organised by Frank Lyons as a late addition to the CSCC programme in order to help the visitors acclimatise to the UK. Sadly, however, a number of incidents have given their mechanics some work to do before Brands. |

Hi Alan
Some really nice photos there ! Did you get any shots of Dad driving the McRae GM1 in qually or race one? I had a very busy week topped off with an all nighter on Friday getting it finished in time and forgot to take the camera, probably wouldnt have had the energy to take any if I had ! Cheers Richard |

Hi Alan
Thanks for the quick response! Great shots. It was a miracle we got it there, the chassis only came back from the paint shop on Monday afternoon ! After all the effort it ran like a dream though with no problems, just need to get it dialled in properly now with a bit more time. Cheers Richard |

Judy did her best to get out of the way and used the grass to make room for others.
Interesting moment as Neil Glover, 11, was lapping three others who in turn were all lapping Judy. It all got a bit complex! |

Lovely photos, sadly, being in the Safety Car, we did not see much of the racing. it was, however totally awesome to see them in the rear view mirror on the rolling starts. Poor Daimler , she is bog standard road going - new pads & discs required after 4 laps!!!!

I was there too in my XJS, I didn't get to see any of the F5000s on track, but the soundtrack was awesome!

Loved the 5000, shame they had their db killers in but they still raise the pulse.
#1 #2 #3 #4 Normally I put them in a separate gallery to the CSCC ones but this time they are all in together so you have the classics the F5000 and the Jaguars, will be more added in the next few days when my wife finishes processing her lot. take a look here if your interested: http://www.davidstallardphotography....471397_38CXsH5 Thanks for looking .DAVID. |

I'm really looking forwards to see Frank's 5000 Circus at Brands this weekend, i really hope that all the cars are fixable after what sounds like a slightly over-exciting trip to Oulton. Normally when I am at a meeting I'll have the family with me, which means I don't get to watch the F5000s as they all find them too noisy even with ear defenders (the kids are pretty small!), but this weekend I'll definitely be on the banking at Paddock Hill after my own race.
Get 'em fixed boys! James |

Truth is they are a spectacle and a joy to see, hear and feel.
One of my finest memories are of the F5000's at Brands. I was flagging on Surtees where they turn on to the long circuit. It was pouring with rain during qualifying and they were still giving it everything but not falling off. Mighty impressive and one of the most exhilarating half hours in 30+ years of flagging. Thats what these cars can do - create memories. Much bigger entry for Brands so that should fill some of the gaps between Michael and Judy. Neil Glover ought to be a good each way bet too. See you Friday. Ear defenders at the ready for the second seesion after lunch. |

Nearly correct. Its period MacKay injection (full of bog to keep it going), not Kinsler.
