Didn't cover the first race for the Historic Road Sports - their second one (Race 16) was held on Sunday afternoon. Some good battles up and down the grid but easily won with a margin of 8 secs by Kevin Kivlochlan in his Morgan Plus 8.

Last race of the weekend - Race 19 the Midget & Sprite Challenge with a grid of 25 so quite an entertaining race to finish the weekend with. A clear winner by 20 secs was Paul Sibley (MG Midget) but a number of battles behind him - 2nd & 3rd were separated by about one sec I think.
The crowd was still fairly large even though it was late in the racing day - good to see so many people staying behind for the last race. |

In between each race on Sunday there was a track parade - e.g. military vehicles, classic cars (thanks to a knackered water pump & fan through the radiator I wasn't able to take part!) and classic bikes. A few of the latter:

I'm sure everyone will agree that the 2015 incarnation of the Nostalgia Festival (née Nostalgia Weekend) was the best yet. I'd be very interested to hear the spectator numbers.
As Gary said, the fact that so many people stayed until the end shows that they were enjoying what was on offer. The weather obviously helped but so did the ticket prices - there's nothing elitist about Croft... |

I hate to mention it but waiting in the assembly area for the 70s race on Sunday there had been a nasty looking two car shunt in the previous race which I think was Formula Ford. Hoping those involved came away reasonably ok?

Not two car but seperate incidents. James Hadfield went into Clairvou too quickly, caught the apex and launched into tyres. Got out but decided to sit down again due to the crack his leg had suffered . Now in plaster.
See our website for great coverage of the races. |
