According to Japanese Autosport web
In 2012, Nissan will deliver 6-8 GT3 spec GTR to customers. http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=6&no=38458 Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 7 Jan 2012 at 06:10. |

Do those customers include teams like Hasemi or JRM because they'd each have one for 2012. Hasemi to race SGT but I doubt they'd be the only one so maybe 2 for GT300 this year? JRM have one which they will race at Dubai soon. Tony Quinn who owns Aus GT was looking at one but apparently has brought a 458 instead.
Havent heard of any other potential customers myself. If sponsors are found JRM might run 2 in World GT but thats a big if. |

Latest Autosport expects that not team Hasemi but team RS-Nakaharu will participate with GT3-GTR in the GT300 class.
And several GTRs will participate also in Super Taikyu series (ST-GT3 class). |

When I last spoke to JRM they were discussing orders for around 6 cars for 2012. Production will take place at their refurbished facility and is happening now. The official launch of the GT-R GT3 in Europe will be next Thursday at the ASI. |

I doubt that is like mclaren stuff, when before 24h of spa they told that their car was 1300kg heavy but in the reality 1230kg was the min. weight of ther car. |

Nice to see Schulze stepping into ADAC GT with a Skyline after their adventures with their own GT-R in VLN, tough looking car that was. |

About DBR9, the car ran during years with a regulamentar min. weight of 1100kg or 1150kg sometime (only in 2010-2011 with new specs was heavier) for this reason for sure the min.weight of the car was less than 1100kg. I don't know if you refear to dbr9 as "biggest" car, but in my opinion the 3 biggest GT1 cars were the mc12, saleen s7r and R-SV, with their larger dimensions could generate more downforce than other cars (the R-SV was clearly advantaged in 2011 with the lightest min. weight of the roster and largest width of body and slitter/rear wing). About GT3 cars, usually front engine type cars are usually a little heavier than most recent mid-engined cars, but i repeat that 1300kg is the overall min. weight of the car, and the thing shouldn't surprise because there are cars much more heavier than gt-r gt3 (sls at example). (If i remember well min. weight of gt-r GT1 was 1220kg, because in the last races of gt1 2010 the car ran without bop weight ballast) |

You're not understanding me. In STREET TRIM- the ROAD car Nissan has 4wd. Without it, the race cars lose a good deal of weight from that alone. That's what I was saying. Also, the GT1 Nissan GTR has a bigger engine than this GT3 version. If the GT1 version had a minimum weight of 1220kg at one time, the car is obviously lighter than 1300kg. This must mean they meet the 1300kg minimum weight of GT3 with ballast. This is what I'm pointing out. With the GT3 Nissan going to be run in SuperGT in GT300 class, they'll have to weigh less than 1300kg to be competitive. Which brings me back to my original question.

ok maybe the misunderstanding is born because i said min.weight that makes think about bop, the min. weight that i speak is the dry weight of the car.
By the way i really doubt that the racing modified nismo 56VK engine of GT1 cars is heavier than the road car engine used in gt3 car even if has a larger displament. For sure in gt-r gt1 have been used better quality materials born for races. GT-R gt3 use a lot of street car materials that i think have a worse quality and not born directly for race. I repeat, in my opinion the car has a dry weight of 1300kg for real, it's not a sort of AUTO-bop, if not, why other manufacters like ferrari (458 gt3 1265kg), mclaren (mp412c gt3 1230kg), audi (audi r8lms ultra 1245kg), bmw (z4 gt3 e89 1200kg) built a gt3 car ligther than 1300kg? |

Ballast for better weight distribution. I guess we'll see what the weight is of the GTR GT3 in Super GT. I doubt 1300kg is as low as it will go.

a sort of autoballast as you said for weight destribution can be done in LMS/ALMS/WEC where gte cars must have a mandatory min. weight of 1245kg. Example, i know for sure that vantage gte dry weight is 1175kg, because of regulamentation they need to add 70kg, so they can use this difference as ballast to stabilize better the weightbalance of the car.
But gt3 cars haven't a regulamentar mandatory min. weight, for this reason the aim of manufacters is to build a lightest car possible, to keep the car competitive even after an unfair BOP. In my opinion a gt3 car should have a dry weight of around 1250kg! because if a car has already a dry weight of 1300kg, if bop adds +50kg of mandatory bop ballast, that car will have serious problems during the championship! and if will win a race, will get other weight ballast... (just think that this year in GT300 in autopolis race, the 458GTC of jim gainer because of bop+winning ballast was heavier than a 458 street car...). Some manufacter have been able to do gt3 cars with a dry weight less than 1300kg (ferrari, reiter with gallardo's, matech ford GT3, bmw, porsche etc....) other not (nissan, AMG SLS, dodge/oreca, AMR). Audi r8lms was 1295kg heavy, so they did the 2012 "ultra version" that is 50kg lighter. Mercedes is trying to do the same with her ultra-heavyweight SLS GT3 |

Every year GT3 prices are going up, was there any need to upgrade the current car? Balance of performance should keep the car competitive for a couple more years, pointless.

Well, most of the GT3 Cars are round about 400.000€, the SLS GT3 is a little bit over it, so it is definitly not one of the most expensive GT3 Cars. In the GT300, the car did so well and was alongside the Hankook GT3 R and the Triple A Vantage the dominant car in that class. In GT Masters the car had a lot of problems due to "Balance of Perfomance" and the very special Hankook Tires. If a good team tries to enter a Nissan GT-R, i wouldn't think that this car would be without a chance

Too much for that car, or for either a BMW z4 or a Corvette, or a Ford GT. And coming from an uncompetitive car the year before, they got what they deserve sometimes.
Yes i know this is racing where the qualities are different to road cars, but as Jeremy clarkson say's you also pay for the Badge. (Specially wealthy people in PRO-AM cars) |

Honestly what you've said is a pile of absolute nonsense. You're pretty much speaking from a position where you don't actually know what the car costs to produce or what the returns are for that car and you're trying to say they should sell them for less, especially because it's a Nissan. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
