V16 BRM's at Donington 21/6/03

It was reported in Motor Sport last month that 3 BRM V-16's would be racing at the Donington VSCC meeting this weekend.

It would be a first in 20 years if they all ran at the same time I think.

Does anybody know if they are all going to turn up?

I remember seeing them all running together in the lunch break at the British GP at Silverstone one year - I think it was '85? Fantastic sound.
If you haven't got it, get the book 'Into the Red' by Mark Hales and Nick Mason. Most of Nick's cars are track tested in the book but the best bit is the CD that comes with it. Track 5 - turn it up LOUD, Nick's BRM V16 recorded from the pit lane at Donington. You can hear it going round for the entire 3 laps. I got my copy for just a tenner in a book sale.

Have the book. Track 5 plays every time my computer boots up.
There were 4 at the first Goodwood Revival Meeting with only 3 entered for racing only 2 made practice and only one did more than 1 lap.
Great noise while it lasted though.

In an ideal world, the Thinwall Special should be there to keep the BRM's company.
