Fascinating tale. First went to Oulton in the early 60s, and of course it has evolved quite a bit since then Still one of my favourite tracks, although as its my nearest I am of course biased

No, it's a great track wherever you are from. I too went for the first time in the early 60s to the Gold Cup meetings when all the top F1 drivers were there - Brabham and Hulme I remember in particular and Jackie Stewart as well, I think. Actually I don't think the track itself has evolved too much from those days except for the two chicanes and providing more runoffs and less trees to hit. No reprofiling of the corners except the Knickerbrook chicane. |

I raced at Oulton a few times in the 60s, and, once I had sorted out the right gearing/diff combo, it was fabulous track second only to the old Snetterton circuit which was always my favourite. It never occurred to me at the time that the trees and other impediments were a possible danger, even after seeing James Hunt (driving a chum's Mini under an assumed name) slam into the trees at the start of our race.

I went there in 07 to see the tin tops and it was a nice experience to walk across at Lodge between sessions. Was even tempted to pick a bit of marbles

My first races at Oulton we’re in the 80’s .Fabulous track . My best memory for all the wrong reasons was crashing into my team mate . Happy days . It’s a long story I will tell you one day . Best bit was that the Marshall’s thought we were going to have a punch up.

Used to be my local track.
2011 holds strong memories for me. Griffin laying a trail of oil in qualifying caused carnage. Then, being in the TD garage when Shedden and Neal came together was definitely an interesting atmosphere to be amongst. |

And what are you favorite tracks abroad? Knowing that Spa is just outstanding!

Favourite race track - Anglesey Coastal. Just awesome
2nd favourite - Donington National (well I only live a mile away and it is a great layout) Least favourite - probably Brands Hatch Indy. Not because of the track, particularly, which I quite like, but because of the hateful M25 and the Dartford crossing. |

Favourite overseas tracks for me? Bathurst Mount Panorama. But that cheats a bit as I now live in Aus as as a British citizen, Aussie resident. But they are overseas tracks to most of you
Oh throw in the original Adelaide Australian Grand Prix track which I was fortunate to race at in HTC GP supports back in the day. Phillip Island..... |

I know Pau as an organiser but never raced there. Favourite? In town may be Monaco for the prestige, Silverstone for the length.
Real favorite are Jarama and Estoril for the curves/straight arrangement they offer. Never get bored on this two. In France Nogaro and Ledenon and of course Le Mans. Dont appreciate so much Le Bugatti and Charade probably because I know the previous version of the latest. |

Both times I've been to Canada I've been round the Circuit Gilles Villenueve. I remember going there in 2008 just a month after the GP and you could still see the black marks from various cars. Unfortunately we couldn't go down the pit lane, so I couldn't see the skidmarks where Lewis hit Kimi.
