pink69 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
How big can the BTCC be?

In recent years we have upto 7 different manufactures of car racing in the series at one time [ Ford , Volvo , Renault , Audi , Vauxhall , Honda , Nissan] Since then however the numbers have rapidly declined dur to high costs , leaving us with just two works teams [ Vauxhall and Peugeot] Withe the costs reduced , many new manufactures are being linked with a return but how many does the series need to be back where it was in 1997 / 98? I'd say we need at least 5 or 6 to be as good as in recent years , however having more would be great also. Also , If you look at the Aussie V8's , there are two main manufactures and they have over 30 cars on their grids so surely we need something near to those totals.

2003 will be when it bnecomes truly big again-by then i can see at lkeast six manufacturers, + satellite teams and privateers (lots of them) making grids of 25-30 in the BTCT alone! Next year will be another 'transition' year, with Vauxhall, Pug, MG ang probably Volvo involved. Alos, a lot depends on the way the ETCC rules go.

Talking in a different context about the BTCC becoming "BIG". I always thought that the BTCC could be huge, I mean with the right marketing, and advertising BTCC could rival other sports. I don't think the public has fully discovered it yet, and i just think its a wasted opportunity. Isn't Touring Cars huge in Sweden?
