Pembrey truck meeting 27 & 28 March

http://www.barc.net/competitors/race.../hq1001-01.php

Trucks and karts, that could prove interesting.

That has got to be more amusing than the Trucks / F3 matchup at Thruxton in August...

Oh no, not those super kart things? That's the only form of 4 wheeled racing that I find genuinely frightening!

Some championships and series may annoy me, but only one scares me. Big difference.

No, the reason I do flags is because of what could happen if I had to attend a major incident... A marshal collapsing on scene having a) exhausted himself due to asthma and b) having a totally incurable allergy of medical implements would not be a good thing. Having said that at Llandow I marshal track days and do Incident with bikes and cars... I've got no problem with twisted and battered metal, it's twisted and battered people I'm not keen on. This is why I don't do bike racing, and do not like attending incidents at the bike track days, not that I have much choice in whether or not to attend!

And also why I am not the biggest fan of superkarts.

Not sure where you're going with the Llandow bus stop thing? the last couple of times I've been stuck there not much has happened other than me and John Pettifor getting comically soaked by a huge puddle leaving two dry marshal shapes on the wall behind us!

Thanks for the insight Stig.

Anyone know how the numbers are looking for the WRDA this season.
But not a bad little line up for the weekend

As always, a brilliant meeting to start the Pembrey year! And, according to my issue of Startline that i recieved today, we`ve got FOUR truck weekends this season. Is that right???

According to the mag, it states 4, but according to the BTRA site, it says 3.
The 4th date in the mag is down as a car meet in Oct, unless they use that meeting to cover if they can't do the Donnington meet.

will have to wait and see i guess

Stu,
you ain't spoiling the party, you just ain't reading things properly.....

I said "unless they use that meeting to cover if they can't do the Donnington meet."

Just because it is booked in, it does not guarantee that the meeting will go ahead, all depends on what happens at the circuit.

Good... glad we got that one sorted out.

Stuart, have you put down to do Safety Car again? you're listed as Flags which makes a change. In any case I think the only Safety/Pace car away from the trucks will be the superkarts and I believe they have their own driver for that.

SWCRacing has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I believe the WRDA. MGOC and the Claterhams have no provision for S/C in their regs. The trucks will have their own, and not sure about the karts

Everyone now has provision for a safety car - it's a new reg in the Blue Book this year (after we'd just got 'round to putting it in our Caterham regs). Is there going to be a SC available? - if so, I'll try & arrange a drivers briefing for its use. Better than red-flagging the race...

If you mean "Is there going to be a vehicle for the specific purpose of being used as a safety car available at Pembrey?" Then the answer will be yes, as the course cars can, and have, been used for this purpose in the past. If you mean "Will there be a safety car in use?" then the answer is Possibly. I assume that the decision for that will be made by championship's organising team, not the circuit itself. I wasn't aware that all series had a provision for a safety car now... when did that come in?

Disclaimer : This could well be completely wrong. Don't take my word for it, check it out!

Eh? "Each driver shall acquaint himself with the regulations of the pit and paddock..."??

"Safety cars for all" is new this season - Appendix 2 of Section Q of the Blue Book. As a championship rep, we always like to have the safety car option, rather than wasting time redding the race, but we often don't know that there is a SC available. If there is a SC at Pembrey next weekend (?), I'll get onto the CoC/BARC and arrange for the Caterhams to be able to use it.

I thought the Blue Book regs had to be adhered to, with any futher regs coming from the "Championship Series" as long as they didnt contravine the blue book...
eg....Safety Car if required ect...

I Think
lol
