2010 Aussie F1GP Marshals thread

Well the post allocation E-mails have been sent out.

I'm allocated to Team 25 (Flags), Position N/A.

Anyone know where N/A is located at the track??

I got lost off the list and reapplied manually late in the piece so I'm a "spare".

Also got the Credential Collection E-mail this afternoon and I suggest everyone checks theirs carefully NOW.

My one had me not requiring a uniform (I do), my sisters had her requiring a uniform (she doesn't) and no car park pass.

So who is where this year.

If your message is wrong reply back to Lauren at CAMS ASAP and don't leave it til the last minute.

Team 25 (Flags) 13L for me, glad to be on a corner, and not on a straight bit this year Maybe they haven't had as many people reapply as last year...

Any bets on us getting a meal after each day's activities, seeing as we are trackside until late in the evening?

Someone on Facebook suggested Near Alcohol which isn't much use to me

Mick, I'm told they've got rid of the Deputy Sector Marshal position and they're all Sector Marshals which means those who normally worked with a DepSec, which meant they had the mid sector posts, now have a chance to get to the corners.

I am on Team 38 (Spectator Marshal)
This amuses me greatly as 1: I am not a spectator Marshal and 2: I haven't even applied!!

Bahrain was just a warm up. Not as if there was any actual racing.

Where were you at on the weekend? I managed to catch up with Trevor, but if I had known to look out for you, I would have. Were you on the bank?
Will you be at the GP?

I just realised I didn't get a minute by minute (the little bound book) like I have in the past years...is it just me that missed out, or are they not issued like they were?

Well it all starts in a little over 15 hours or so.

Seems to be quite a lot of disquiet at the treatment of volunteers at this meeting. CVD has put something on facebook and I've had two emails from experienced officials going ballistic at the shabby way they were treated this year.
No one prepared to go public though. This is how they keep getting away with treating people like crap.
Anybody got any updates as to what went on? and anybody prepared to go "on the record"? This needs to be stopped before we lose even more volunteers.
