I noticed in a recent article that Anthony Reid felt that he would have been champion if it wasn't for the scoring system. Sour grapes? possibly, but my question is this..
Is there any real point in having a dropped points system of scoring? and Should the drivers just keep all the points they score? Ok that was 2 questions tell me what you think. |

Rightly or wrongly, them's the rules. Reid knew the scoring system just as well as every other driver. It's no good complaining now - if he wanted to be champ then he should have scored better thoughout the year then dropped scores wouldn't have been an issue.
Perhaps he should get a Florida court to force a re-count |

I believe the dropped scores rule was introduced to liven up the racing a little - to encourage drivers to fight their way to the front and race for the maximum points - safe in the knowledge that they could fall off a few times a year and not get excessively penalised for it. No one wants to see Mr Consistent winning the series when he's not even won a race (which Reid didn't do until late on in the season)
