Manx Classic 2010 - April 22 to 24
Whilst idly browsing over the weekend came across info about this event - an evening sprint + two hillclimbs over three days.
Website www.manxmotorracing.com In years past there were organised parties to go across but nothing like that for this event. Own arrangements required. We always had a good time on the island - been going since Manx Rallies in the late 1970's and Manx Classics through the 1990's - never had a bad trip. Just wondered if anyone else is interested - the MMRC will be keen to have any assistance. Favourable ferry and hotel terms available. i'm planning to go from East Yorkshire and take the car across. Space could be made available for suitable candidates. David Morgan |

Well I'm interested. Are you the point of contact for voulenteering?
Interested yes, but I'm at the moment unsure of what I'll be doing around that time of year, so won't be abel to give a instant yes or no. |

Reminiscing
Did enjoy my one and only trip to the island for the tenth Classic back in 98,(with most expenses being covered once Heysham had been reached)
Think the order of events then were practice for the Willaston pursuit sprint on the Thursday, with the Douglas promenade sprint in the evening, Sloc hillclimb on Friday,Willaston sprint Saturday, ending on Sunday with a race meet at Jurby |

Hello Stig
Wasn't intending to co-ordinate just raise awareness of the event. Would make sense if a few people wanted to go that someone acts as a central point of contact. Eg if people wanted to fly over we can sort transport etc. I'm just hoping we don't end up with 50 wanting to go! If a few went we could do a deal with a guest house and run posts together to make it easier for the MMRC. Usually these events attract an interesting and varied entry and they are always grateful for assistance and the island has some great eating drinking etc David Morgan |

Well, I'm interested - but would probably bring the motorhome over and make a longer trip out of it rather than fly/hotel it, I have been to the island before and have been looking for a reason to go back ever since!
Grandslammer, you interested in coming over, prehaps we could get a post together? Will let you know when I've finally got some sort of idea what I'll be doing. |

Having doe the Classic a few times...the thought of SEEING another marshal, let alone being on the same post, is more likely. Except the Wollastone. Mind you, that part of the event is constantly in jeopardy, as so many houses have grown up inside the course, it's a constant source of local irritation!
