It may be just me getting old, but it is getting harder to tell the difference between the generations of Mercedes and BMW models (and the Mustang as well) whereas in the past there seemed to be a big jump in styling with every generation.

Slow design evolution allows to keep resale value, and prevents the older models from getting seen as old (instead of classic).
