Really looking forward to every session this weekend - there's not one series that I think 'oh dear' to!

fast and furious 15 minutes practice/races, both days.

Just like a few degrees off the temperature!

I will make sure security are aware that some officials have not received passes. I will leave them my mobile number in case of any queries / problems.

Cracking meeting. Thanks to CTCRC for the Saturday BBQ and doughnuts.Today saw 2 practice sessions and 14 races and still finished before curfew despite 2 reds and many 2 green flag laps (and an hours dinner). Motor racing as it should be. Well done everyone!!

PS where did all the spectators come from, never seen Mallory so heaving for a car meeting for many years.

Some of the drivers have asked me to pass on their thanks to all the officials for all their hard work in making it such a good meeting. They were very complimentary about the standard of flagging, especially the blues.
May I also add thanks from all the Senior Officials to everyone for making the meeting the success it was. Despite the weather everyone did an excellent job.

Thanks again,
Fred

Thanks for some superb Marshalling. Good calls reporting incidents and asking for Race stops and some excellent written reports resulting in two drivers going home with 6 points on their licences. Text book stuff well done everyone.

The story I heard was that there was a Groupon (group buying) ticket deal meaning tickets were available for about £6. It certainly made the place look busy.

And most of the grids were good too so the paddock was more packed than I've seen it for ages. Great weekend....let's hope we can do it again.

Like to say thanks to you guys for marshalling the event in superb fashion as usual it was tough in the race cars in the torrential rain but it must have been miserable out on post as well!

Really enjoyed the weekend at 'Lakeside'. This was an example of how a marshalling weekend should be - good company in the paddock and trackside (I preferred the company on Saturday, when I was on my own!, only kidding), great racing and friendly approachable, appreciative drivers.

Favourite moment was recovering a windscreen wiper blade assembly off the track before the first Alfa race on Sunday, spending the race trying to find out which car it was from, spotting the car (white 30) and then waving it at the driver at the end of the race! We gave it to the course car to get reunited with owner.

(The best bit was seeing him come out for his second race, with wiper on, and giving us a big thumbs up!)

Oh, and it's a blue flaggers dream spot - you've 100% got the drivers eyeline, time to tee up the flag and nice and close to the cars (don't tell the MSA that bit!).

You just have to remember not to blue flag 2nd place car (sorry!) or green flag a backmarker (d'oh!) - thanks Dave Brand for cursing me on these!

Cursing you? Don't worry, I don't think anybody noticed!

. . . & it made a useful training aid for our new marshals!

The Landing Stage is a great place to see the action around Gerrards - our trainees were certainly impressed.

Thanks to CTCRC/Autoglym for the T-shirts!

You were only mentioning in the previous race about faux pas not to make when flagging, so I blame you for planting the seed!

I think what I said was that you couldn't call yourself a real flaggie until you had made those faux pas!

Looks like you're a real flaggie!

(On that basis, but by no other criteria, so am I!)

Thanks Fred and all for a great fun day Sunday. Watching Dead Squirrel's flagging antics from post 2 was "interesting" LOL.

As always at Mallory, good food, good company , and with the classics good racing.

I was having a bad day - in all probability I should have stood myself down. If ILots on at work at the moment and I was pondering imponderables and distracting myself from the task at hand.

A lesson learnt.
