Minstermen YCFC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Silverstone - Sunday 2nd June

We are "Harrogate Minstermen" ,an official branch of the York City supporters club. We are organising a trip to Silverstone for this date to see York City Racing.

To help us organise coach travel does anybody know the start and finish times of the racing?

Also, does anybody know of anywhere we can watch England v Sweden in the World Cup at 10:30 am on the same day in the vicinity of Silverstone or will it be shown there?

Cheers,
Harrogate Minstermen

BTW It's the Golden Jubilee holiday that weekend so it's race day on Monday 3rd, not Sunday 2nd.

Don't know what John has planned but he's been know to bring a big TV with him. If you ask nicely he might be able to arrange something.

Harrogate! What a lovely place! (Well, that's what everyone says when I say I'm from there) I'm sure that if John doesn't have a big TV to show it on (and if you ask him about it I'm sure he'll get one), then it'll be on in the paddock diner. Is the match on the Sunday or Monday?

The match is on the Sunday morning. We will try to organise travel for the Monday when we have an idea of numbers interested. It looks like we will have over 20. It should be good to meet up at Silverstone. How many of you usually go to watch York City Racing?

I remember going to Goodwood FOS during the '98 World Cup and Ford had a massive marquee showing the football.

I'm sure somebody will do something.

You might find there's football on the TV in the bar at Silverstone.
Make sure you meet up with the B&Qsi over the weekend

I reckon it's about 15 people in our group depending on the travelling distance for some of us. We had better tell John to get a bigger flag supply

We will be bringing our York City Football Club flags down. It will be a good day out if we all meet up.

This sounds like an excellent idea. Did I notice that you are doing the travelling in one day? Although I am not sure about Silverstone's camping facilities this year, we can always be found on the campsite.

Have any of you ever been to a Touring Car race before? It would be really interesting to see what you think of everything. Maybe we could all do the reverse one day?

I did have a conversation with John about coming up to see a football match as I have never watched a football match before apart from on the telly.

I've never been to a football match either, but it does look like we are going to have to plan a trip to York next season at some point.

I have never been to motor racing before and as far as I know only a couple who are travelling have been before. You should all come to a York match next season. If you need any help organising a trip contact us at harrogateminstermen@hotmail.com

We will only be coming down for the day as we need to book a coach. Also it will be one of our members birthdays that day so I hope you will all be in a party mood.

I am sure we will all find each other. We should be easy to find as I will make sure we have some York City flags.

Minsterman, you have picked the right team if you want a party!! We will see you there and, hopefully, on the opening day of next season at BC too... Some of our group don't much like football, and I'm sure some of yours don't much like racing, but I'm sure those with an open mind will be able to have a superb time!

I will ask John if we can organise something ref the football match when I speak to him next.
