Ford Mondeo ETCC /WTTC
2006 built mondeo to ETCC/ WTTC SPEC
looks like two vehicals where build for ford in the end they never raced, anyone know anything about these cars?? spec is very etcc with 9" by 17" rims 2.0 litre dry sumped duretec engine six speed sequention ect ect |

built in germany
can not remember the name but they aparently built a lot of touring cars its been FIA approved with log book ect

Are you sure it are Mondeo's? German team Hotfiel Sport entered Ford Focus' in WTCC 2005. Also RS-Line entered some races. Before and after both teams were racing in German touring car championship with these cars.

it was built in 2006 from whot i have been told ford compared them to the focus and then decided not to use the mondeo in the end it was built new and has only done three test days quick way to blow over 100k

Well... Ford said they would change to sedan, but they talked about Focus sedan. I found this from TCT archives: http://www.touringcartimes.com/news.php?id=145
There was a longer story somewhere with Ford people commenting different body shapes, but I can't find it. However, soon after those comments, Ford decided to withdraw as a factory team. Maybe they where testing a Mondeo too, but I have never seen anything official about it... |

thats interesting reading
with two cars built at well over 100k each looks like ford where keeping all there options open on which car to use then they must have found the budget taken away without much warning

Was about to post that I'd found where the pictures had come from but then the pages disappeared. Looks as if the ads had been pulled for whatever reason.
