I didn't think Dahlgren did that well in 1999? He was with Menu that year, wasn't he?

Just out of interest, where did you find those results?
I spent all of ...oh... 5 minutes looking for them, but since the sad loss of formulaford.com I couldn't find anywhere with back dated results. Marcos Ambrose, that's someone I would've liked to see do better after his time in Fords. He went off to do French F3 didn't he? Then did a couple of races in Brit F3 before heading home to V8s or something. Shame, he should've won the fesival both times he entered. |

Didnt Jenson punt him off at Clearways in the 98 festival ????.....and i would like to know where you found those results too , as i had a look and couldnt find them eithere.

For some reason I can never *quite* remember what happens at the festival...
I thought it was Button who gave Ambrose the shove, then the following year something broke while he was leading, if my beer-clouded memory serves me correct. Gutted. |

i think it was Jenson......., as he was trying to over take Ambrose for a few laps , and ended up being a bit over aggresive with him......i think it was a lesson that Button learned the previous week in the Formula Ford Eurocup at Brands when he was leading in the final round , but was defending with all he had , as was taken off by someone in a simular way at Clearways as to what he did to Ambrose the following week in the Fesival....
also..good to see Dan Wheldon being lined up for a drive with Eddie Cheevers IRL squad...hope it comes off for him......now there's a good British bet for the INDY 500. |

Ah! this is good anorak stuff.
JB would have learned 'that' in karting...we had a saying in british karting "No point coming 2nd at the 'O' plate" Most European and always at the Worlds 'take out' is normal (no one complains) if it's close! The festival is a similar affair, a one day championship decider, that's what makes it so exciting, when it's close. CofC's seem to 'turn a blind eye' at the FFF except when it happens in a heat or the semi's... (Patrick! you twit!) Ambrose Duckham's VD team-mate Wheldon was following, JL told MB after the final 'that he should have taken JB off with him too! so 'Welly' could have won it! |
