About shouting man under the podium at Suzuka.
His nickname is John. He has intellectual handicap. But he loves motorsport. He is loved by all of the drivers There is a rumor that the driver who was shouted his name by John can get a successful career. Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 28 Aug 2016 at 11:10. |

According to Motorsport.jp,
trouble of Calsonic Impul (#12) occurred by oil leak. When replenishing the engine oil, it leaked to the exhaust, and caught fire. http://jp.motorsport.com/supergt/new...%81%8B-810824/ |

NOB Taniguchi (#4) complains that pit stop time of JAF-GT is too fast (10-40 sec) than FIA-GT3.

I would have to admit that Honda didn't get so lucky on their home circuit after Drago Modulo NSX didn't convert its pole position to a victory at Suzuka 1000km. On the other hand, Nissan's winning streak in GT500 has ended with the No. 38 ZENT Cerumo RC-F getting first place. Of course, some of the viewers would complain that the car should have been penalized for overtaking during a yellow flag.
As for GT300, glad that R&D Sport got it's first victory on this season with No. 61 Subaru BRZ crossing the finish line. Then again, most of the Mother Chassis cars and a certain Hatsune Miku AMG GT car didn't get any podium finishes. On the other hand, glad that the No. 31 Prius got 2nd place over the No. 0 Gainer GT-R! It's a great race and I can't wait for Buriram next month! |

It seems to be the judgment that the driver couldn't recognize the yellow flag at that position.

According to Autosport web,
Tachikawa (#38) entered yellow zone (T13-T14) just before yellow flag was shown at T13 post. Therefore a penalty wasn't imposed on him. http://www.as-web.jp/supergt/41065/2 |

Thanks JS, that was the most likely explanation for what seemed to be a nailed on penalty. The white flag was showing before they entered, but the yellow we saw must have been the first moment it went out.
That win puts the #38 right back into the title hunt, and a little bit closer because of the last-lap drama for the #1 (finishing 6th for 6pts instead of 4th for 12 pts). |

More than two actually. Fuji's 2nd race that year was in the middle of August, so two years and two weeks.
The SC fell well for them but they were in the mix for victory anyway and kept up the pace in the tricky conditions when almost everybody else fell back. |

I'm surprised there isn't any mention about the disaster that is Honda's GT program. Or maybe no one cares about Honda
To japanese samurai, sam collings, sasha or anyone with inside info, Is there any noise in japan about Matsumoto (Honda GT leader) being kicked out yet? Surely he won't last after this season? Since he took over a few years ago he is slowly but surely destroying Honda, dragging them down from winners to also rans or backmarkers. This is shaping up to be a season where Honda fails to win a race for the first time in... did this ever happen before? |

Matsumoto addressed the shortcomings of the NSX GT500 in RCE earlier in the year. Also Honda has a new engine coming next year (not evolution - new).
Matsumoto wants a FR layout car and more technical freedom in the regulations. |

Kind of difficult when Honda doesn't sell a single front engine two door car in Japan, isn't it?

I think the problem lies with the DTM-based chassis tub. Remember, it was originally designed only for front-engined cars.
I would understand Matsumoto's frustration about the NSX GT500 program that he wants to put the engine at front (aka the NSX FR that wasn't raced in 2010) and/or more technical freedom that'll mitigate the chassis's limitations. |

It was more than stupid to turn the FR DTM Chassis into a MR NSX.
(Marketing Team's brilliant idea and Engineering Team being yes men) So first it was going to be a compromised design then it was handicapped by series for being MR and Hybrid.(that was like helping putting the boxer in the ground after you killed him in the ring) On the engine front....Honda has just been years behind on Di Turbo Engines. (Honda just doesn't have the diesel history like others) But there is light after HRD learned that CVCC and Trick Injectors is the magic to power and fuel efficiency.(Mercedes knew that from day one with Di/Turbo/Fuel Flow Meter Engine) So next year SGT engine will get what the HRD PU team learned. |

GT500 race recap:
https://supergtworld.wordpress.com/2...suzuka-1000km/ GT300 race recap: https://supergtworld.wordpress.com/2...suzuka-1000km/ It was very much worth staying up until 6 AM to watch this race, later watching the Belgian GP on absolutely no sleep at all. Quite a few memorable moments and sterling individual performances from this one. Takaboshi and Makino were the top newcomers in GT500 and 300 respectively, Cassidy took the fight right to a three-time GT500 champion in Tachikawa, and a very savvy victory through adversity for Subaru in GT300. Some will say the ZENT team stole a victory because an obvious yellow flag zone wasn't flagged as such (shades of the 2012 Brazilian GP?) but after losing out on so many chances to win with the lineup that they had, I think the racing gods finally just decided to give them a bit of good fortune in return. |
