Australian Grand Prix - Predictions Contest 2019 - Round 1 of 21 - Results
Congratulations to defending world champion smellysocks, who draws first blood by winning in Australia.
Australian Grand Prix Results 1. Bottas 2. Hamilton 3. Verstappen 4. Vettel 5. Leclerc 6. Magnussen 7. Hülkenberg 8. Räikkönen 9. Stroll 10. Kvyat Qualifying 1. Hamilton 2. Bottas 3. Vettel Fastest lap: Bottas Fastest pit stop: Red Bull Weather: Dry formula1.com Driver of the Day: Bottas Driver of the Grand Prix: Bottas Team of the Grand Prix: Mercedes Rate the Grand Prix: 6 Analysis Nobody predicted Bottas to win, nor claim fastest lap or any driver polls. Out of the 80 top ten positions predicted, just three drivers were in their exact positions, Notso Swift for Hamilton in 2nd, me for Stroll in 9th and Born Racer Fan for Leclerc in 5th. 5 out of 8 entrants predicted 7 of the top ten drivers correctly (in any position). The only driver to not figure in anyone's top 10 was Magnussen. Two entrants predicted the top 3 in qualifying correctly - crmalcolm and Born Racer Fan and two did the same for fastest pit stop, wolfhound and smellysocks, while only wolfhound got that the race would receive a poll score of a six. Thanks everyone for entering and I would love to see you back for Bahrain. Stick at it, ApexTurtle! The points margins can vary massively each race, so the championship can swing about quite a bit too. The tricky bit is knowing which 'midfield' runners will end up in the top ten. Knowing it could be Racing Points, McLarens, Haases, Saubers, Renaults, Toro Rossos, etc, they can be crucial points.
