Honda uses the louvered bonnet. Full flat bonnet is a specification only for Fuji, according to Keinosuke Taki(chief of the Honda GT project). To defog a front window, an inside wiper seems to have been installed in HSV.

Accoding to AUTOSPORT, Honda adopted the technology that was able to raise the temperature of radiator coolant by making it a high pressure this year(The pressure of coolant is not restricted by the regulation). By this technology, the temperature of engine falls, and the amount of the air that radiator needs decreases. So, Honda was able to use a flat bonnet and smaller radiator in Fuji. It is uncertain whether Honda uses this technology excluding the Fuji round.

This rear skirt(shape like HSV) is what Team LeMans developed originally(High downforce spec)

That is what SGT is all about. The place for engineers to deliver some interesting ideas. That shouldn't be taken away with possible DTM rules.

Why Japanese Super GT teams (GT500) are no longer in a few years used the third-GT drivers Pokka Summer Special (Suzuka, Japan) race?. (Last year, only the Autobacs Racing Team Aguri used a third driver.)

I think that's because the rules no longer demand that. Previously the teams were forced (by the rules) to run 3 drivers. I may be wrong though. Can't remember the rules exactly.

Pokka 1000km was an endurance race before. However, the race pace quickened, and it became as if the sprint race like Le Mans in recent years (actually, the race distance has been shortened - 700km since 2009, 500km in 2011).
In addition, the competitive driver is mostly a regular driver of GT300. Therefore, 3rd driver of GT500 tends to become a young driver without the GT experience. So, to lower the risk, only the regular drivers drive.

Fastest car was KEIHIN HSV(#17). But, they are passed by IMPUL GTR(#12) during the pit work. Then Tsukakoshi caught up with #12. However, He did spin, hit #12, and drive-through penalty was imposed on him.

The movies are back! Thanks JS!

Looks like an eventful race with battle in both classes, especially in GT300.

The magazine "Great 100 races of Japan" published the interview of Kazumichi Goh (Team Goh). The latest issue featured the Suzuka GT300km of JGTC in 1996. Team Goh participated in JGTC with two McLaren F1GTRs in this year. Because they were too fast, an irrational handicap was imposed on them. As a result, they withdrew from JGTC in only one year.

Team Goh planned to participate in Super GT in 2006 with Maserati MC12. MC12 was several seconds times slower than the GT500 machine per 1lap. But, the race lap was competitive. However GTA imposed the weight handicap of 50kg on MC12. So, they withdrew from Super GT.

And Goh unveiled to have received the offer from "a certain Japanese manufacturer" of supplying the "one" JAF-GT500 machine for 250 million yen several months ago! He said that the operational expenses of the GT500 team was necessary for 100 million yen. Therefore, he rejected this offer.
250 million yen is unreasonably expensive. This manufacturer might not have wanted to lease the machine to him. But this is the first time to be unveiled the leasing price of the GT500 machine!

"Magazine X" got a scoop on photo of full scale mockup of "racing version" Impreza. This mockup has a front grille of GE/GH/GR/GV Impreza(not next model). And, it has a big wide fender. This fender has louvers for the air outlet at the rear end of the tire house (However, this louver is prohibited by the GT300 technical regulation). This mockup is not for WTCC/JTCC car. It must be a study model of SGT or DTM car.

I think a word of praise is in order here for you JS.

It's been quite some time now that you've kept us here informed about one of the worlds finest sportscar classes. So sad it's very rare to see any footage over here.

Keep up the great work mate !

Of course, it is either of Lexus(SC430) or Nissan(GTR) or Honda(HSV). An important thing in this article is as follows:
1) Team Goh had the intention to participate in SGT at this season.
2) However, a certain manufacturer did not want to lease the car to them.
3) The lease price of the JAF-GT500 machine costs 250 million yen(!) if there is no financial support of the manufacturer (Goh said that this offer was arrogant).
4) Operational expenses of GT500 team are 100 million yen a season.
5) He said that he did not have a mind to race in Japan now because the racing business did not consist in Japan.

Ok, I get it now. I thought you meant a manufacturer came to them with a special gt500 car that cost more to run than the others.

i'm sorry for team goh, but also other unofficial teams pay money to have a car and to keep on in the season... these teams have been able to find a financial supporting sponsor, team goh not. Ask to highcroft....
