Interesting to see that Ingall leaves his
side mirror on the racing line during
the shootout and with Kelly's dramas,
they had ample time to retrieve it
before Will did his lap.
Seems like the side mirror issue is more
important at some events than others ?

With about 20 laps to go, the commentators
say that we are going ad free to the end
and about 5 laps later we go to ads,
well done ?

Rather distressing to see Alex Premat collapsed while in pit lane. Hope all is ok.

2 Race weekends in a row that FPR have dropped the ball (although thats the only thing you can rely on them for)

Everyone pitted the same lap, how could most finish and they coudn't?
When you're in front in the points, the safe thing to do is keep stations.

The last time I saw drivers peeled out of the cockpit in that sort of distress was Radisich at Clipsal in maybe 2000? I think it's a compliment that in 2012 only one driver is down and out, and it happens to be someone who is experiencing these conditions for the first time.

I genuinely hope Alex is okay. It wasn't pretty to see.

What on earth is it with Will Davison and this track?

Overall a very entertaining race on the box. Disappointed not to be able to make it this year. Would hate to see this race disappear from the calendar.

I don't think you are the only one not to make it. Where were all the spectators? I suppose the heat did not help. Here's hoping a better crowd turns up tomorrow.

Being there in person today, while i certainly wouldn't label it a ghost town, it certainly was not anything close to a packed house.

Even come the start of the V8 race when everyone pays attention, in GA it was easy to find a spot right on the fence, especially at the Turn 2 chicane which is generally agreed as the best GA area.

Along the back straight up towards the station, where all the water features are (and you would have assumed, given the heat, alot of people would have ventured), there was tonnes of grass available.

I don't think the heat had anything to do with it, Clipsal still draws massive numbers on their hot days.

A telling point was the fact that the Jimmy Barnes/Diesel concert was not held in ANZ Stadium as has been the norm for previous years, but was held on the grass near the Olympic Cauldren. From what i was told, the concert was moved due to poor pre-event ticket sales (was this the truth?). There were alot of people at the concert, but it was very much a 'picnic' theme and no one was tightly packed..

If they can move the whole Rock and Race concept to SMP, and sort out the public transport, they might have a chance of making it viable out there.

Train to Blacktown or Rooty Hill. Buses from train station to circuit. Shouldnt cost to much at all.

The move from ANZ stadium to the overflow park is the most telling aspect of the events decline.

Judging by the amount of people at the concert, you should perhaps change that the 'barely one thousand paying spectators'

I've been to every Homebush race, and yesterday was certainly the smallest crowd i've seen there (particularly in the covered grandstand area)

The promoters seemed like they've pulled up stumps too, there was much less 'off-track' attractions than in previous years.

I've quite liked going to the event over the years, but yesterday, in terms of things to do, was very disappointing.

I'll see how today compares.

Just watching the Adolph Hitler cup (porsche) and the crowd looks very thin on the ground, empty stands, one deep on corners and widely spaced elsewhere. More team members ,drivers and officials than crowd.
