Who Autographed the 2018 #91 Porsche

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone here can help solve a problem for a few LM model collecting anoraks.

Sometime just before the start of the 2018 race, someone(s) autographed the bonnet of the #91 Porsche. The autograph(s) are clearly absent in the pre-race reveal, scrutineering, practice and qualifying session pictures, but can be seen (just) on the race car.

The autographs have been reproduced by Spark in their recently released model of the car and are probably easier to decipher from the model.

It's been suggested the autograph is from Derek Bell. Visually it looks similar and given the inspiration for the livery was Bell's winning 1982 Porsche 956 that would make sense.

However, there don't appear to be any photos of Derek Bell at the 2018 race (though he was present for the Le Mans classic a few weeks later). You'd also think if he was there and signed the car, the PR people at Porsche wouldn't have missed an opportunity like that.

Appreciate any input or insight you can provide.

D. Bell was, I am certain, at LM in 2018 as I saw him in Chartre-sur-le-loir on the Friday. I had to assist his younger son in closing the boot of their Bentley Bentaga as his hands were full and he couldn't reach the close button.

I believe DB was on Bentley duty so perhaps that is why he wasn't pictured with the Porsche.

I have a signed copy of Derek's autobiography "My Racing Life" and from that it's clear that it's definitely his signature.

Not sure if they should have put that signature on the model to be honest. Feels out of proportion to the rest of the scheme.

Slightly unrelated, I just got the 1:18 Spark Pink Pig #92 car from the race. Beautiful model to go with the t-shirt

As a matter of interest, what did you have to shell out for that?

The 1:43 model is around Euro 50 / USD 55 depending where you are in the world (you'll pay more in the EU due to VAT).

The 1:18 is around Euro 132 / USD 150 outside of Europe:
