I honestly don't know the answer, but we see mechanics swapping cars all the time. I'd be surprised if it was illegal.

I suspect you are correct and the Toyotas weren't pushing to the absolute maximum.

Corvette posted earlier that the #64 crew helped during the #63 stop after Magnussen had the spin (granted, the car was in the garage)

Granted, but these are 2 totally different teams: For Chip Ganassi & Keating Motorsports.

Not sure this has anything to do with the investigation of course

iirc, Peugeot sent their mechanics to the Oreca garage one year, after their own cars had all retired.

I find it entertaining to start the morning and hear them talking about 6'2 being too tall. Maybe for a 14 year old but some of us grew still.

Fell asleep finally and woke to read almost 1000 comments to catch up. Thankfully the moron over night stopped before he got here, reports of gun shots in to houses on the street could have been a terrible morning
