2016 Historic Race meeting dates / club calendars

By this time last year we already had a fair idea of this year's calendar, but to date, for 2016 I've found hardly any info! Anyone with any other club or major meeting dates, please post on this thread so they are together for inclusion on the Historic Race Calendar.

Maybe concern over F1 dates being slow to be set in stone filtered down the food chain, but so far, the following big meetings are confirmed-

Goodwood 74th MM, March 19/20th

Goodwood FoS, June 23rd to 26th

Goodwood Revival, September 9th to 11th

Silverstone Classic, July 29th to 31st

MG Live (Silverstone), June 4/5th

Nurburgring Oldtimer GP, August 5th to 7th

Jim Clark Memorial, Hockenheim, April 15th to 17th

And due to clash with the last, HSCC Castle Combe April 16/17th

One more- in 2016 the French 'Tour Auto' (originally the Tour de France Auto) celebrates it's 25th anniversary since being taken over by Peter Auto. Takes place from April 18th to 24th, staring in Paris and finishing on the Cote d'Azure....

And if the Oldtimer is weekend after Silverstone Classic as suggested, a quick turnaround will be required for some!

Thanks very much for the valuable contribution, Joe, although reckon there's a fair chance you're likely to be right!

This year we had some cracking weather for the first part of the season, then it went steadily down hill, starting with Sillystone Classic. For Spa 6hrs rain is almost a given, but seems middle England in July is going same way.....

Changeable weather is part of Spa's character and appeal, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Wind and rain, on the other hand, do not add much to the airfield experience.

BoT, There are a few things floating about re shake ups of various series, so possible changes to structure may be preventing publication of dates. Asides which it's no where near Christmas yet, let alone the start of next season.

Thanks David. What series are racing there?

Yes Joe, long way to next season, but at this time last year we had far more idea than we have this time!

BTW St Mary's Trophy at Revival next year is 'all A35 grid' I understand!

Mike the only one I know about is Pieter Bakker's Legendary Circuits series. It's going to be a reunion for the FISC Sprite/Midget drivers of the last 20 years.

Thanks, sure Pieter will inform us in due course!

HSCC provisional HFF dates have been posted by dikko on the club single seater forum, and apart from Castle Combe replacing Thruxton as the first meeting, follow normal format. Reckon they will be confirmed unless something changes with F1 dates and so on.......

Brian A should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I see that AMOC Racing have just announced their dates. Only 3 meetings plus feature races for the Intermarque and GT4s at British GT Racing events in April and May.

Their own meetings are:-

11th June - Silverstone GP
23rd July - Brands Hatch (Indy circuit)
20th August - Snetterton

Thanks all, now we're getting somewhere. Anyone got any 'inside info' on Masters, CSCC, MGCC, CTCRC etc?

Will, so Peter Auto abandoning Portimao late October then! I'll put up with a trip to Imola instead..... Can't say I'm surprised though, can't imagine PP was impressed with the events of this year. Will be interesting to see if- (a) The Algarve Classic happens, and (b) If the date is earlier to allow time for anyone wanting to do both managing to do so!

Nothing at Monza so far......

That'll do! No clash so far, so maybe Masters will be visiting Monza that date as well. Presume it will be the resurrected Coppa Inteuropa Historica.....

MG Car Club dates - provisional of course:-

3rd April - Donington
30th April/1st May - Brands Hatch
4th/5th June - Silverstone GP (MGLive)
3rd July - Mallory Park
3rd September - Oulton Park
1st/2nd October - Snetterton

Also I understand that the Donington Historic Festival meeting is over the May bank holiday weekend, 3th April - 2nd May.

I've got a date noted for the Spa 6 hours of 17th/18th September, but I'm not sure where I got that from. So extremely provisional.

Thanks Brian, Spa 6 usually weekend following Revival, so that date sounds right.

Think most dates still to be treated as provisional, but much better than having no dates!

I really hope that is not the case Mike. Much as I like seeing A35's do their giant slaying thing that would be a sure fire way to ruin one of the best races at Goodwood.

One make races at Goodwood never make great spectating - and Goodwood is one of the few race calender dates where it is all about that. Look at the "one make" Ferrari race last year- great to see them for about two minutes but actually not great to watch for the whole race. The same goes for the D Type race; the Minis; the Cobras etc

St Mary's Trophy- It was in print in a mag I get, but can't remember which!

Agree, but think of the business A series engine builders will get.....

Mike, I've just read an article which mentions
St. Mary's Trophy will be an all A35 grid.

Thanks Malcolm. C&SC- that's where I read it, then!

And as for one model races at Goodwood, think the 74th Members Meeting will include a GT40 only race?
