Talking about TN's race, Larrauri's rollover was scary looking from the inside of the car.

That HANS device didn't seem to work at all

The series mandates HANS devices as per FIA reglamentations technical lists, so everything used should be compatible with that.

Maybe the restraints weren't used correctly?
Whats worse, nobody seems talking about what happened

On another note: the ACTC changed regulations for Chevrolets and Torinos on TC
In the case of Chevrolet, they went from a 32 mm restrictor to a 38mm (same as the other models, kinda excessive imho, but we will see)
And in the case of Torino, they reverted back the 15Kg weight increase, so the minimun weight now is 1300 Kg (same as last year) as opposed to the 1315 base weight for all the cars that was mandated this year (The change actually signified an increase of 25 Kg against Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota, that were given weight reductions to reach the new base weight, Ford remained unchanged)

Perhaps not too coincidentally, Pernia is going back to Las Toscas Racing, but this time with a Chevrolet, leaving back the Guri Martinez Competicion Ford after Rafaela's race

Pernia and the Axiom Ambrogio team's dominance is almost absolute, and the series also froze some development areas for the cars so seems its not gonna change much this season.
The SUVs (if they see the light... there's still doubts about the engine to be used and we're months away of the prototype being on track) needs to shuffle the teams a bit.

On another news, Matias Rossi changes motorist for the TC race at Rafaela (one of the most engine dependent races of the calendar), his Camry will be using a Claudio Garoffalo built engine, after the engines on it and it's sister car, the one driven by Jakos, both broke.
Jakos will be using a rebuilt Agut one

Agut engines this season seems really fragile, with the Toyotas and Werner having a lot of troubles with them.

Using the current TC2000 Berta (?) engine isn't an option?

Suposedly they were already talking with Berta about a new engine (based on a 5 cylinder block) but alas, nothing new there yet.
And they still want to compete with the TC on speed, so the basic Berta Duratec doesn't cut it.
2024 is getting closer and there is a lot of unknowns, and in these months the prototype should be on track.

That said, the TC is kinda on the same boat, there were some rumors about new models incoming for 24... and nothing yet, but there is a big but: The ACTC already built and raced the Camry and the TCPK in months after presentation, and the logistics of the whole series is stupid solid by now.
Even then, 2024, if anything, will be a prototype presentation in the case of the TC new cars, no new models racing

EDIT: and lets not talk about the eternal "the TRV8 is coming"

So, renovation is coming, Iuliano (ACTC's Technical Director) presented the basic rules for the Mustang and Camaro to the teams so they could start working with aims of having them running in 2024.
And suposedly, the Padecomm team that was about to debut next year with Ledesma driving a Chevy is aiming to debut with the Camaro instead.

The intentions are to let the new models run alongside the older ones and gradually phase out the latter ones, same happened with the old chasis.
No words on the Dodge and Torino yet.

I don't live in Argentina, so I just read social media.

Some fans complain that Mustangs and Camaros are extremely expensive and uncommon, unlike Chevys and Falcons.

Camaro, Mustang and Challenger without sidepods and TC noses

https://www.solotc.com.ar/tc-camaro-...de-calle-2024/

As for the Torino, the ACTC would have the plan to design a modern version of the "great Argentine car"

Why is it that all the makes have the same standard nose? It removes the identity of the car. Does the Toyota look anything like a Toyota?

Balance, same reason as why the indy retired the custom aero bits.
Yes, ignoring the nose, the side profile follows the car lines, same for the other cars.
Racing is about racing, not about the identity of the car, and more in a series were till Toyota and the quite timid Renault dealerships sponsorship, no brand was interested in, nor the series was interested in the car brands participating.

I (emphasis in the I) don't mind that the cars doesn't look anything like a road car, in fact, i quite preffer it, i love the craziness that the old DTM (before GT3) and SGT produce.
Road cars for the road, race cars for the circuits.

I understand and agree with your comments, but still, every other touring car or sportscar championship manages to have the front of their cars resemble the model type and still retain balance.

Yeah, but the thing with the TC the nose tradition is older than some of the models themselves... so much that the Chevy never ran without an "aero nose"
In fact before the standarization of the "cuervo" and "alifraco" noses (and even after them) there were a lot of experimentation with them
I used to hate them, but they grew on me.
With more modern cars the aero will be easier than the old "compacts" so the nose will be phased out when they finally retire and fans will start complaining of other things.
