Probably the same way as handicap pitstop system (penalty time is added to pitstops) works with BoP in Michelin Le Mans Cup, you know the nonsensical way

Also about the Ligier JS P2 "record" bit, DSC must've forgotten that Saleen S7-R was racing in SRO historics even before being outlawed from Le Mans and other series lol. But otherwise interesting article

Incredible amount of legendary and still fast cars. The Peugeot and Aston look sooo fast even is they are standing.

Indeed, beauty in motion it is

Maybe this'll convince ACO to bring the Legends support race back for LM after hiatus, and instead of the old tired Group C or 1949-1965 they'd go with this modern format instead. They can free room by axing the Ferrari/Porsche/Aston spec series slot (Aston prob be fine with that given they are title sponsor for this particular series)

Nope - didn't forget - in fact the Ferrari and Aston in the field at Monza are both still homologated - but neither are reigning championship-winnong cars from 76 days ago!

Bizarre weather near the end of MLMC, before the arrival of rain, dark all of sudden because of the clouds and the floating blossoms in the air in front of blazing headlights made it look like a fairy tale land. I don't recall seeing that before

Some good racing at Monza at the moment. Maybe getting a little rough out front though.

The ORECA-fest has never been more obvious than this though.

I agree. I watched the race today. That difference from Oreca to the other cars it's a shame, the competition would be a lot better with more parity. At Monza is more obvious.

Sadly, it seems that Oreca just built a better mouse trap. They got things right when the current LMP2 regs were introduced. Car's great at Le Mans, works just about as well everywhere else, works well as the Acrua ARX-05 DPI and forms the basis for the Rebellion R13 (it should be noted that though the BR1 LMP1 and the P217 are built by Dallara, they're not directly related like the Oreca 07 and the R13 are).

Also, like the Porsche 956/962, the 07 has strength in numbers in the ELMS and the WEC. I don't see that changing much until the next rules cycle or BOP gets introduced into LMP2 (which the point of the regs is to minimize the presence of BOP).

The old non-spec regulations had, even with the tech freeze and cost cap, EVO kit upgrade options for all the chassis manufacturers... as in proper EVO and not that waiver joker crap for non-Orecas... but hey bop and success ballast is much easier... read lazier...

With WEC going for a rule change, I wonder what the future will hold for ELMS. Itís a good series itís own right and would be good to see it continue for a little longer

Because the WEC was born out of the ILMC, which had some LMES races, which is now ELMS. As both series run to similar, but different rules, I just wonder what ruleset ELMS will go to when WEC will change itís rules

Ben Keating has ruled out a WEC campaign but just might do ELMS instead. It would be good to have something other than Porsche and Ferrari in the class.
