Jakob Ebrey published a picture of the 'name', stating it was good to see on the car. He also did the same with Jackson - so pretty much just a light-spirited thread over what are recognisable names in the BTCC. BTCC themselves merely posted an 'eyes' emoticon, which could be suggesting that people should look closer? Chilton also joined in the fun, commenting that Lewis was quicker than his 'dad'! He did originally note that he was helping with pedal box fitting for a prize winner called Plato. I don't think anyone in an official capacity has even come close to suggesting that Jason Plato is driving a Motorbase car..... |

Likewise, David Bartrum knew exactly what he was doing when deciding to put the name on the car. Note he didn't bother with a name for everyone else who drove today. It got exactly the expected reaction. But then winding up BTCC fans on social media is like shooting fish in a barrel. |

It's gained publicity. Goal achieved.
Just because a driver tests a car does not mean he's going to drive it or even necessarily considering driving it. It can be a valuable tool for both parties to understand where performance may lie. Young Moffat as a case in point has had tests in a few cars in recent years, but has firmly stayed put in his Mercedes. |

The boss left Matrix yes. Whether it was just the boss who wanted to be in BTCC as opposed to the organisation I guess we'll see.
I wonder if Mike Epps possible return was hinged on boss man or Matrix. Hopefully Hill will be announced sooner rather than later. Everything really is up in the air this year. |

Wait a minute, Lewis Plato isn't Jason's son, is he? Sorry it's a bit silly but Chilton's instagram story got me confused...

Holy Moly, people on here are getting carried away and believing everything. Lewis Plato isn't related to Jason. People can have the same surname and not be related. And I don't think Andy Wilmot is boss of Matrix motorsport. That's Jeff Alden. It's Wilmot who is going to TPC

Motorbase always test drivers in the off season, although Ollie Jackson at Motorbase is intriguing

I wouldn't bet against Turkington being part of the three-car line-up in the Lynk & Co 03.
