Derwent Motorsp should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It is a very long shot I'm afraid. There are issues with cleaning the site up after it's long term military use which will take years and some of the potential developers also want to open cast the coal reserves there. Some of the other plans include nature reserves and eco villages and as there are villages round about those are more likely to get the local "nod" than a race circuit.

A club I am a member of has been looking at a sprint circuit development and has examined a number of potential sites. However in the business plan rallycross was ruled out due to noise and image issues and as mentioned above the potential damage to the tarmac and cleaning up after an event.

As far as WW2 airfields are concerned, many of those that have been used for motorsport in the past are now lost as the landowners have found other uses that bring in more cash and also there are grants to dig them up.

It's no surprise that any motorsport venues built in recent years have bene in God forsaken locations!

Donnington Park Leicestershire, just out of interest does circuit racing still take place there after the tracks financial problems, if its just growing weeds track side perhaps a rallycross venture there could bring back some track action to the area and then who knows what, after all that's where Croft Circuit restarted, if it hadn't been for George Shields bringing Rallycross back to the Croft Track it might all now be housing & Industrial estates, and boy do they sure know how to repay the sport.

Work is going on at Donington, with a view to open again in September. BTCC are pencilled in for the 19th September.

The new lease holders have said they want to develop the whole site so you never know.

I'm a big fan of Donington but there is already the Mallory rallycross track very close by. We really need another venue in the north (particularly the north east) of England.

How about Cadwell park, use to be brilliant rallycross track there, you can still see it through the grass. Infact got a friend doing a track day there I'll tell him to take a detour and see what the response is !

Great circuit but too close to Blyton. As a previous poster said we need a track in the North East of England. Plenty of other parts of the UK could do with a circuit as well, but one step at a time.

Youve got more chance of having rallycross at Silverstone than Cadwell!

Track is not there anymore and the surroundings are really made for bikes now, its MSV's nice little earner!
