Are you sure of this ? The cars running in the test sessions look very much to me like the existing chassis with some new aero parts, as the GT-Rs and HSVs.

How long do the GT500 teams usually run the same chassis? Do they build or get new ones every season? Samurai-san, do you know?

Autosport SGT report (Sepang test report)

**2012 GT500 regulations
Expansion of restrictor size (29.1mm*2 to 30.2mm*2, 8%plus, 40H.P.up)

**2012 spec tech info
Nissan GTR
-Nissan introduces (several set of) new monocoque. (but not new design/2008 design)
-Suspension is changed and the weight reduction is carried out.
-It excels in straight line speed and breaking point is also deep.
Honda HSV-010
-Low drag front fender + new side air outlet/smaller radiator.
-Straight line speed is inferior 3 to 5 km/h compared with SC430 or GTR.(too much down force?)
Lexus SC430
-Opening of the radiator grill was carried out. (new air intake)
-Weight saving was performed. Front/rear subframe was changed into carbon from steel/alminium block.
-The pickup point of the suspension was changed and rigidity improved.
-The problem is held in the durability of the tire in long stint.

So no weight reduction for GT500 machines? 40hp increase sounds good though. They'll need it if the FIA GT3 machines are using the FIA Bop. They make good close to 500hp! Thanks for the information Samurai! The pictures of the BRZ are great in the snow.

Autosport SGT report (About DTM/SGT regulations unification)

Honda says that it would like to use a NSX concept as the succeeding car of HSV-010.
NSX concept is a midship-engine car. However, only FR machine is accepted in GT500 (and DTM).
Autosport says that this is the objection to the regulations unification of SGT/DTM by Honda.

Well that settles that then . Bring back the NSX and SGT doesnt get changed by DTM. Two birds. One stone.

Lets see some more happy memories like this.

Honda doesn't have a front engine RWD car, that's why they're asking for the NSX to be allowed. I'm not sure that'll go well with the merger.

Boulou should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi everybody !

I'm new here and looking for some informations about the Japanese Super GT.

Indeed, I have the chance to be in Japan in march and april 2012 so I really want to go and see the race !
But on the website (all in japanese) it's difficult to find informations. http://www.okayama-international-circuit.jp/

Did someone ever go to Okayama ? Can someone who speaks japanese help me ?

I'd like to know how to go there, the price and how to buy tickets, and the timetable.

Thank you very much for your help !

Okayama international circuit is located in Okayama Prefecture.
Nearest station is JR Yoshinaga Station (JR Sanyo main line).
You should buy a ticket with a shuttle bus from JR Yoshinaga Station.

*Ticket
(advance ticket)
-2days ticket:5,250yen
-Saturday ticket: 3,150yen/Sunday ticket: 5,250yen
(advance ticket with shuttle bus from JR Yoshinaga Station)
-2days ticket: 6,825yen
http://www.okayama-international-cir...ru/car/gt.html

A ticket can be purchased on the official website.
However, there is only a Japanese page.
Therefore, you should use a Japanese travel agency.
However, I do not know reliable travel agency.
So you should use Japan forum of Trip advisor.

I didn't know there was a bus shuttle (just read some people's comments saying you have to come by taxi from the JR station) so it's a real help !
As I understand, the advance ticket with shuttle exists only for the 2days, right ?
I will see how to buy from the website or from a Lawson...
It still remains for me to find the timetable and an accomodation

Yes, 2days ticket only.
Time schedule has not been announced yet.
Okayama international circuit is located at a very inconvenient place.
So you should stay at JR Himeji Station (Hyogo pref), JR Aioi Station (Hyogo pref), or JR Okayama Station (Okayama pref).

If you would like to buy the ticket by yourself, consult by Japan forum of Trip Advisor. There, there are many skilled English specialists. My poor English capability cannot explain well.
