Hi Andrew - Looks like Swinging Sixties, Tin Tops and Future Classics, Porsche Club, plus XJS, Jag Saloons and the Sport Car v Saloon Challenge.

Should be a good day's racing if the other CSCC meetings are anything to go by.

Terry

PS: looks like Dave just beat me to it - the downside of being in the Eastern time zone!

Does this mean you'll be at Oulton as well?

I should be early but have never been described as bright if I dry out from Saturday's slight watering over on Anglesey

Sorry Andrew, unfortunately not - no doubt will be creating havoc out on the bank at the MSVR Lotus Festival over the weekend where it's going to really warm and sunny!!

Have a great time at Oulton with CSCC though.

For a first time camper at Oulton can anyone tell me where the Marshals camp site is. As I'll plan to camp Friday night.

Thank you in advance.

As its not a big meeting (i.e. BTCC or F3 /GT) you should be able to camp where you want. If you camp near to the paddock fence by the scrutineering bay you'll have access to the toilets and showers.

Quiet day on Old Hall.
Some racing was good however some was also long at 40min, maybe the single driver races could have been two 20min races.... Anyway worked with a great taem of laides and gents even though we did not get much to do, thank you all.

Agreed, 40 minute races were too long for me. Especially when leader in swinging sixties get a 1min30sec time penalty in the pits and still wins the race (obviously a quick car and driver though)

He's now got a 2 minute time penalty for the next race! Maybe he can stop for a cup of tea next time and still win?

Seconded, especially those on the two posts who looked after me - broken throttle cable in practice, duff rotor arm in the race, not a good day for me :-(

First time out with the CSCC. Survived practice but also suffered a failed rotor arm in the race (some supposedly more robust ones are now on order). Thanks to all the marshals who stood out in that heat all day and particularly the marshals and recovery people who retrieved my car from about as far from the paddock as it was possible to break down!

Not the best start to my racing with the swinging sixties but I'll be back...

I understand that the 40 min races can be a bit difficult to follow and not too interesting to watch but from the competitors point of view in CSCC they are fantastic. Most club racing involves a long drive somewhere followed by a 15 min practice and a 20 min race; the CSCC decided to do something a bit different to give its competitors max value (ie track time) for money (or the chance to share a car & costs with a mate due to the pit stop format). The club normally tries to split the 40 min races up so that it has 2 on each day of a weekend meeting & the rest of the races are then the more normal sprint format, but Oulton is always only a one day meeting so 4 of the club's series raced on the same day. Sorry folks but I think that the CSCC is one of the few clubs that runs meetings like this so hopefully you don't mind us having 40 min races once a year at each venue.

At least the CSCC series have reasonably busy grids and there must have been some good dices even within the 40 min races. I did my best to entertain a bit with my (finally succesful) battle with the green 205.

Thanks for all your help anyway, we know we can't do it without you.

The 40min thing was only a little moan saying 2x20min would be better, however understand your point and have marshalled for CSCC at Anglesey and Oulton this year. Will defiantly be on the bank for the club again 40min races or not.

I've also done the CSCC meetings at Anglesey and Oulton this year and have also volunteered for the 2 day meeting at Snetterton in October.

Now can I get to the Cadwell meeting(s) as well?
