Looks more like commodore cup than v8supercars
Is it just me or is everyone thinking the COF has turned into 888 supplied commodore cup with a big budget
For sure one Ford on the podium but only by luck Couple of Datsuns run ok And for all that money the couple Merc's was a major disappointment |

Just 6 Fords, yes it's quite disappointing.

Whilst it is very lopsided, the blue side does have some quality, but having MW and DR sitting in the garage doesn't help the cause. |

I disagree, i didn't see any commodores at the V8s yesterday. Just 28 kit cars. Maybe some of the slower teams need to buy T8 cars, and then put their own panels on. That is what the whole series is about now.......

And engines and in some instances support from Holden who have given their blessing that the COTF in the shape of the Holden can be called a Commodore.

The Holdens are more Holden than say a BMW is a BMW in the DTM.
I'm a (very) casual fan. I'm not Australian so the Holden/Ford rivalry, while I appreciate it, doesn't really light my candle. With the new COTF and the new manufacturers, I'm very interested again. The series talks to me. But then again, should an Australian series be talking to an 18 year old teenager in the UK? |

A holden commodore can never win the Bathurst 1000 again.

[QUOTE=Datsun1;3213179]Is it just me or is everyone thinking the COF has turned into 888 supplied commodore cup with a big budget
It's not a Commodore Cup supplied by Triple Eight. Now granted, the two teams that won are Triple Eight built cars (RBR-A and VIP-Tekno) but that's the game of motor racing. The best will always win. In terms of Holden, the Holden teams have contracts that have carried over with the manufacture. (BJR left Ford at the end of 2007 due to Ford was reported going to cut funding plus BJR wanted Walkinshaw equipment, Triple Eight left Ford at the end of 2009 due to Ford cutting out financial sponsorship while Holden jumped in, Tekno left at the end of 2011 season due to expansion by buying/leasing out Paul Morris Motorsport and their Triple Eight built cars, Tony D'Alberto Racing left Ford at the end of last year due to COTF/COToday equipment and to re-establish links with Walkinshaw performance. In short, the teams can race whatever they like with the contract they sign up. Agreed but like what the CH7 commentary team have said all weekend, there has been teething problems with the new equipment. Shame it's been with FPR but the rest of the manufactures have had some problems with the new equipment (BJR, GRM, Erebus, Nissan, etc) Erebus and Nissan Motorsport are still in development. The main problem has been the lack of time with the engine department. It looks like the main focus has been chassis/areo. |

I find it funny to see the dashboard shell with the place for the dash on the right, and the driver and wheel sitting to the left of it. Quite laughable. At least in NASCAR they don't try and fudge the interior like that.

Just thinking about what happened to FPR on Sunday it’s already clear that there needs to be some sort of parity adjustment but I can’t see it being an easy fix as I’m just not sure would sort of measure could be taken for them fumbling their wheel nuts.

They're one of the only teams with painted wheels, could be part of the issue?

There was a ford on the front row of the grid for race 1, so parity can't be too much of an issue.

Aaaaahhhhhh!!!
I have just realised that it is not COTF after all, it was a typo!! It should be COTE, or Commodores Of Triple Eight. Now it makes sense |
