Some hope for a close race

Interestingly, Massa faster than Barrichello, and less that 0.2 secs behind MS.

Let's just hope Ferrari weren't sandbagging; it's "strange" that they didn't improve; apart from Davidson, they were the only: all the other BS shod drivers improved significantly, therefore it can't be a matter of tyres...
Provided I hope to be wrong, what do you think about it?

The temperature climbed for everybody, including the Saubers and Jordans, who nonetheless improved significantly

Maybe they selected a harder compound, and Ferrari's weather guys are expecting a temp drop for Sunday? They picked it at Melbourne.

As for Webber, Whew! Looks like there's some Qualifying pace in the jag at the very least and Mark is doing a top job of extracting it. Please let them have a good race package.

Don't forget. Due to being the first one out in Melbourne, Kimi gets to go out last during qual 1.

Bruni did well, just 0.1 secs off Heidfeld, less than 3.5secs off Kimi in P1, and way ahead of Pantano/Baumgartner.

You're reading it all wrong!..They just did more laps...and dont have to spare their engines like the race driver team mates do.

My guess is that Zonta and Davidson did the light fuel tests and Button the heavy fuel test. About 1 sec difference.

Who else matters?
Trevor P...You guessed wrong old chap!...Davidson didn't do that time on low fuel!

He must be dissapointment that for the second time he hasn't had the chance to prove what he can do on a faster, cleaner track! Whatever he has done a very good practice today...his time from the first session stands him in at 14th fastest of 25 cars in the combined times.

Why is Fisi over a second behind his "erratic" team mate?

He doesn't seem to be "gelling" well with his new car!

Massa - very impressive!
Who would have suspected a Sauber only a half a second off the leader's pace.

I agree, this could get very interesting tomorrow.

Wait until after the race, these days it's so hard to see who is where until the dust settles. One thing is clear, Massa is FAST.

HMMMMMMM, maybe he is, as some of us say, Not THAT GOOD? I think he is a good driver, who probably is capable of some podium finishes, but not WDC material.

I don't think they were sandbagging, but they were definitely working hard on race setup according to Rubens.

Crasha Massa will find it hard to win one as well if he can't settle his erratic driving down a bit.
