Was going to be arriving Friday. Jan's now had her foot op postponed to Saturday so some rejigging required, and she won't be able to be there at all. Hoping to be able to arrange lifts and company for her so that the worst that will happen is me arriving late on Saturday - I've already missed the Nationals once this year, I really don't want to do so twice!

Sunday should be no problem either way as long as we can get someone to be with her for the day, even though I may have to drop her off horribly early.

I shall be there Sat but not Sun (VSCC Mallory Park) - ain't it a pain when two top-class meetings clash!

Woolley, will John M be there to deputise if you're late?

I do believe that all of the above have been taken care of and you are free to do as much or as little as you wish as Jan is "Sorted".

that's what friends are for.

Absolutely, Stuart, many thanks for your help. I shall just be a little late, it seems.

Roger, thanks - waiting for John to come back to me, but he should be there as usual. Since I'd got Al's details I've asked him to do second cover - I couldn't remember for certain whether you'd said this was a meeting you were missing for. It's good having a number of reliable people who I know can do the job at least as well as me! (I know what you're all thinking, and no, don't say it!!!)

Cheers folks.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and the weather stays good. Sadly I can not make it so I'll see everyone at the final Shelsley meeting of the year.

Many thanks to the hordes of marshals who turned out for this. It's a wonderful problem to have trying to work out how to fit everything in.

Timing (and a couple of other) problems led to a frustrating morning capped by a stunning new record - 22:58 to Matin Griffiths. Truly awesome. The second win went to Scotty who got his run in just before the drizzle started to make the track too damp.

It was great to see both Graeme Wight jr and Willem Toet out to play, as well as Pat Mather back in place at the start line. Marshal of the year, uncoinicentally was Andy Portman who's been brilliant both running the start and training a whole line of beginners. Well done, and well deserved. Also good to see the occasional Young Marshal award going to Jody Card, so that's both ends of the hill scoring successes.

Obviously it has been a long day on the hill for young Wooley!

The hill record was actually set by Martin Groves, although Martin Griffiths did have a run up the hill.

Poor Graeme Wight Junior rooted the gearbox again as he exited Top Esse on his first Top 12 run so missed the rest of the day.

Willem was struggling to get the car off the line and also to keep it between the banks!

I understand Wallace Menzies was the Driver of the Day - not bad winning the two litre class on only your second ever visit to the hill!

I'm off to bed!

Did I really post Griffiths? I must be getting old if I drag up random names from the past! A long day indeed. Well done Grover, even if some of us apparently didn't notice.
