JV and MW teammates at Williams, who would do better?
Hello everyone,
Well here's a thread that will incur some interesting debate. Hypothetically speaking, if JV and MW were paired up at Williams, who would do better? You've got the young gun from down under vs. the once upon a time former WDC from the great white north (Canada originally). You've got Sir Frank and his yet to be knighted right hand man Patrick Head - the deep thinker, and the task master. You've got Sam Michaels and Dr. Mario Theissen, the nagging whip, and the perturbed operator. You've got a tuskless new Williams in '05, and a newly revitalized BMW engine. You've got RS on the ropes in bed with an injury, JPM looking to greener pastures - McLaren smiling for having snagged JPM from under Sir Frank's nose. You've got the rest of the season with a half dozen races left - Gene has been served his walking papers (race wise), Pizzonia is getting himself adjusted to having to drive in "racing" conditions , and JPM just keeps the wheel in his hands a turning Now our fairytale takes place - if you were to choose between JV and MW - who do you think would fare better? Is MW over-rated or is CK just under-rated (see the thread MW vs. CK lap/qual)? Is MW ready to take on the responsibilities of being the main man at Williams? Or will JV take him and the rest of the paddock to school, and have Sir Frank smile for first time in years? IMHO, JV would eventually come out on top. MW will have his moments here and there however, JV will thrive in an environment he's been rudely removed from for the '04 season. Others will point recently to JB taking JV to school more times than naught however, let's not forget that JB almost suffered a similar fate at Renault at the hands of Briatore. JV or MW? - let the comments fly! MS's old and forgotten nemisis back in a Williams, JPM and KR banging wheels to the front, JB and TS serving anyone walking papers who cross their path, RB blocking the path to MS, FA and GF sifting through the debris. Todt wiping his brow, Sir Frank sitting tall, Ron Dennis staying cool, Briatore looking to out fox, and Richards sleeking back the hair ever further... Who knows how this fairytale will end ? |

In qualifying, close.. perhaps MW. In races, I look for a rejuvenated JV, always a fair but relentless opponent, to prevail. One thing is certain in my mind; a true test for both drivers that would be very interesting indeed. This team would also add to an already highly anticipated 2005.

There are a dozen races left, and then the off season before 2005. No one here can say for certain other than speculate who will fill the Williams seat alongside MW - that's a fact not a fairytale. Most everyone here and in the paddock jumped on the BAR is dead band wagon until recently BAR made a fairytale comeback. Who would have wagered that when MW was driving for Minardi that 2 years later he'd find himself at Williams. If anything F1 has proven to be unpredictable - in the extreme. For example, MS is on his way to winning everyrace except one - and who would have thought that at the beginning of the season, let alone ever, that such a fairytale could ever come true. So until the time that Williams finally annouces their choice to drive alongside MW, this so called fairytale may still have some legs yet... The thread is about a discussion, and it's about who would fare better in a fairytale scenario, JV or MW? |

Keep the bashing out of this one. And the personal attacks. Neither are tolerated on 10-10ths, at all.
It is only a theoretical discussion, but at this rate it isn't going to last long. |

Exactly, that's all it is a theoretical discussion - someting to write or not write about - that's all.

I think JV and MW at williams would be a fantastic driver line up. I really dont think you could better that not only for williams but for F1. We all know that MW will be up for it and JV having recharged his batteries will also be up for it (thats if he is signed). These two guys in a top team pushing each other would really be something to see. Twin that up with the driver line up at McLaren for next season....WOW as I say it would be good for F1

Hypothetically, they'd be evenly matched I believe.
It would be a good line-up. |

I'd advocate locking this thread but for two reasons... if there's a court case, there's still a chance (not IMO though, but a thread to hang to), and I want to see want elses gets posted (therotically speaking)! |
