GCCheddaris should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Doesn't the GT Cup cater for these cars ? Once again someone taking yet another slice of the cake.

Yes - however, such cars (as by nature of a GT4) can't run at the front of a multi-class GT championship (which lets in GT3s and a fairly broad range of cars). The Masters series allows GT4s to compete at the front, which may appeal to some.

I guess the main question is who the series is designed to cater for. If it is existing Masters competitors, who may purchase a GT4 to add to their stable, so that they can race in this and would already be present at the meetings, it is unlikely to impinge on the entry levels in other series.

True, but if they are allowing Porsche Cup and Ferrari Challenge cars in the GT4 cars still aren't going to run at the front. I guess the appeal of this series is to be able to race on international circuits with the Masters series.

Are they going to use a BoP, as used for GT4 cars when raced in the FIA/ MSUK/ SRO packages? If not it easily becomes a free for all within a “GT4 body shell”.
Pick the right base car, with the right development options, and no one will see which way you went.

I wondered if they were going to use BoP but in 2018 the Porsche Carrera Cup times on the Brands Hatch GP circuit were nearly six seconds quicker than the GT4s. Can you BoP that ? A bag of cement in the passenger seat ? Maybe the series is being sponsored by Blue Circle !

GT Cup the last couple years really only features the latest GT3/GT4 and Cup cars. All the cars this new series caters for would now be uncompetitive in that series sadly.

Even a Nissan GT3 is lacking now.

The GT Cup open series kinda managed to BOP GT4 and Cup cars. It'll most likely be a multiclass series using BoP from SRO given themselves and Masters coordinated together for the GT4 race at the Classic which is where this series started.
