You would think that most motor-sport watchers understand it is a parity formula - and the manufacturers seem happy with the arrangement. Currently it seems to be close enough that different brands have been seen on the podium throughout 2019.

Hope to see that continue in 2020. Will be interesting to see if drivers to the caliber of Chaz, Will B or Garth can match the guest drivers too.

I’m enjoying TCR because when I first started watching Supercars it was wheel to wheel racing with no pitstops/tire strategies/fuel drops nonsense. TCR takes me back to that time.

Why would there be a non-compete clause? ARG has properties competing on the Supercars support bill (and wanted TCR on the Adelaide 500 support card)

I would think 7 could be a major player in the 2021 Supercars TV rights

I was really excited about this announcement...until I was reminded Mark Beretta exists.

Don't know about that , she has an intimate knowledge of the sport , she recommended Stanaway to Tim Edwards.

She is banal and seems to lack the ability to actually speak on camera, which I would have thought important.

Mark Beretta isn't so bad, he's better than Matt White. Imagine Matt White and Rhianna Brehan no one would watch that!!

One hopes the commentators will be appointed by and paid by Channel 7 with the ARG or the categories having no input to ensure impartialness

What company will be doing the production for Ch7? AVE?

You have commentators and reporters who appeal to your target demographic(s). Some demographics may include a technical audience, bogan audience, female audience etc.

There's nothing wrong with Rihana, she does a good job considering her pathway into the sport and she presents well. She might not be 'your type', but she might not be there for 'your type'.

The problem is she does NOT present well. She cannot speak into a microphone.

Plenty before her were better in every way bar probably looks.

Briony ingerson and Tahan lew-fat both did a good job and Tahan came into the sport on the same "pathway".

So far TCR has used Emma Notarfrancesco who I don't mind for the colour pieces.

More cars on the way - MPC have another Audi coming.

Looks like some NZ cars will appear at some events too.

Will some of the team head across for preseason racing in NZ too?

Given CAMS hold the Australian rights to the TCR regs (which they contracted ARG to run the series), would it not make sense for CAMS to give this series ATCC status?

Other than it not being the top tier of touring car racing in Oz & CAMS contractual obligations to Supercars of course.

I am sure in the next day or two we will hear a press release of someone else running these cars.

Another contractor like KR or a real team, who knows.

Old mate who's apparently the Australian agent for the car's constructor Lubner, has been quiet.

Made a whole lot of noise earlier this year, but nothing since. Hasn't even imported a car.

It’s a contractual requirement for CAMS to award the ATCC to the Supercars series winner? How long is the contract for?

Supercars don’t use the name, they just reference the history. Wouldn’t it be better served going to a series that might want to promote the title? (TCR might not want to, it seems like a good fit though, especially given Supercars are hardly touring cars anymore)

Bloody hell you would think you'd like to see any sort of consistency of entries and for the promoter not to control half the cars in the field before you think about TCR being the ATCC.
