Weber DCOE Throttle Plate Help

A year or so ago, I brought a new/old stock Weber 45 DCOE 13 to stick on my MGB..... The only thing missing was a butterfly.

I stripped and rebuilt the carb anyway, ordered and fitted a new butterfly from Aldon Automotive, fine....

When I first ran the car the other weekend, During the progression stage, it looked like the engine was going to break in 2..... Although driveability was unaffected.

I took alook at the progression holes were been uncovered, and it was different, bent spindle??

Took the carb off again to find the back side of the new throttle plate(Butterfly) has grooves/slots milled into it around the progression holes. The factory fitted disc was plain, spindle OK.

As a temp measure, I turned that disc around, and it runs perfect. The slots are not on the engine/vacuum side of the carb, so????

Ordered another disc from Aldon's... Plain, so i still don't have 2 the same.

I think new Webers have plain disc's, looking at a few, if anybody has a old 45DCOE 13 lying around, could they check...... Or any Weber guru's know what model's had the grooves in??

Thankyou..

I have DCOE9 type 107-01 they are the Spanish manufactured ones but before they went broke. These have two grooves machined in each butterfly.
Rob Beere Racing could be a good call, Rob knows what he is talking about and is very helpful, Aldon only seem to do the more common off the shelf stuff.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that.

Year, Rob's very good, although the throttle discs them selves are NLA from Weber dealers.... Aldon atleast do them.
