of course are just simulations but have to say simulated portimao timelaps I tried back in april revealed to be really close to the reality

So according to what I read, Nissan could use its future 400Z GT500 as an LMH at Le Mans and be competitive.
What about the old 2020 DTMs? Were they fast like GT500 too? Could BMW and Audi have used their M4 and RS5 DTMs instead of the LMDHs?
It's no way ACO allows any other form of sportscars (from outside of their rulebooks) even to start in Le Mans (even not talking about competitiveness). That's why they still do not fully collaborate with GT3 Ratel's empire. They didn't allow GT500 cars in LMP1 era (AFAIK Super GT asked ACO to run three cars - best representatives from the makes, but French denied).

DTM Class 1 cars were not that fast as GT500. They had no aero or engine R&D, no jet-ignition. And, the main reason, they had no tyre wars.

I think Fuji pole would be in the 1:28 range. Going off of Spa theyre around 2012 levels of performance. Im not much of a fan of current GT500. Imo, the dtm style cars are a step back from the previous GT500 cars and I hope they move away from them in the next few years.

Are you right, I remember when the ACO did not allow the GT500.
Perhaps the next generation of the GT500 should have rules compatible with Hypercars, like Lamborghini Essenza SCV12.

even if I never actually liked shape of cars like sc430, have to agree that aesthetically speaking me too like more the 2008-2013 specs, mainly because there was much more aero development instead of a "closed box" concept as dtm and class one specs are. But have however to admit that performancewise speaking, post 2014 gt500 are basically of another planet!
from 2009 previous gt500 specs were powered by old 3.4L V8 that barely was able to supply about 420Nm which is laughable for cars that used to be about 1100kg heavy...

GT500 is a domestic championship, HYP has technical regs. written mainly by manufacturers and made to let them promote their hybrid/high performances brands in an international context... it's a complete different philosophy.
GT500 in its root is basically a sort of japanese nascar... toyota, nissan and honda fight each other to promote their brands in japanese domestic market... they don't need hybrid stuff etc...
considering the domestic commercial purpose of SGT, they are already overdoing since they are the only sportscars series with a tires war in the war.
In short forget to see GT500 adopting ACO stuff (and be glad of this).

I understand that the GT500 is a domestic championship. But GT500 is totally different from NASCAR these are high tech cars, according to what I read here they are faster than Hypercars.
The ACO has a fully successful formula for 2023 but this year it has only 5 Hypercars at Le Mans and only 3 at Fuji(Jim Glickenhaus said that he would not be in Asia without a new sponsor that has not yet arrived)
So why couldn't we have these beautiful high tech cars at Le Mans and Fuji?
The answer is only for the pride of the ACO, this would be a big mistake!!!

I know that nascar and gt500 can't be technically compared because of the huge difference about technologies involved, but in its core it's basically the same domestic series concept... ford, GM and toyota compete to promote their brand in US market, japanese manufacturers involved in GT500 are basically doing the same, just on a much higher sport/technical level.
GT500 are faster than HYP because ACO and manufacturers decided that HYP had to have those performances, as GT500 were slower than lmp1-H when ACO and manufacturers decided that lm1-H had to have those performances... don't know if I explained myself.
Pride aside, I think none of parts is really interested to "merge"...
GTA and japanese manufacturers are extremely fine in their cup of tea, who cares what ACO clowns are doing?

If either Cars Tokai Dream or INGING wants to continue racing the Mother Chassis car, I think it's possible. But I'm not sure they will decide to go for it easily, because of current economic condition.

Perhaps not much news to be told. The GTA has published the entry list for next weekend's Suzuka round, the Fujimaki Group Suzuka GT 300km Race. 44 cars will enter what is officially titled the 3rd round after the postponement in May.

Last race at Suzuka was great for Nissan, took 1-2-3 finish on GT500 class. Just wondering what happened on #12 Calsonic Impul GT-R which dropped the pace on the last part of the race.

First win for #244 Max Racing on Toyota GR Supra GT GT300 was able. #5 Team Mach was able to fend off #244 at a while before finally overtaken by #244 & eventually finished P5. This means all Toyota GR Supra GT GT300 users are already victorious.

I'm also wondering about Japanese Samurai, even from the last race, no words yet so far.

There's uncertainty with NSX and maybe speculations about the whole Honda in GT500 after their electrification vector announced. Z for GT500? Some tech inside (remember it's a real racing championship, not just dull marketing series). Not mentioning info from ever-growing GT300. I believe, there's always smth to talk from Japanese media. And I'm really concerned about his absence.

it will never happen; GT500 is a sort of happy micro-universe where manufacturers have big influence on regulamentations and like nascar in US, GT500 helps domestic market sales, not to consider the huge importance about engines and tires know how that can be shifted to mass automotive production.

And btw, why adopt a different specs with no development allowed like lmdh/LMH when GT500 class1 is already frozen in almost everything? (but much faster)

Not much to add here, but I would point to how quickly and significantly JAF moved away from sections of the ITR-adopted regulations to suit their own needs.

GT500 has always been a domestic product first. Now that the costs seem to have come under control, there's no real need to move away from Class 1 in the near future.
