Rahel won both races-must be a record for women at this level?

Do you mean at National F3 level? Because I suppose you could say Katherine Legge's 3 wins in Atlantics were a record. But at F3 level, then maybe Frey does now hold a record of some sort. Cyndie Allemann and Natascha Gachnang both claimed podiums in the Recaro F3 Cup in Germany in 2006, although neither won a race. Gachnang was champion in last year's Copa de Espana F3 Cup with several class wins and finished 3rd overall in the Spanish F3 Championship, although again did not have an overall race win.
Points after 4 rounds: 1. Laurens Vanthoor Van Amersfoort Racing 32 2. Rahel Frey Jo Zeller Racing 31 3. Stef Dusseldorp Van Amersfoort Racing 24 4. Bernd Herndlhofer HS Technik Motorsport 21 5. Laurens Vanthoor dominated both qualifying sessions at Assen - on pole by half a second for both races... Could almost seal the 2009 Championship this weekend!

I think it's worth mentioning that in Assen race 1 Sergey Chukanov and Jesse Krohn scored Cup points in Trophy class Arttechs.
Russian Art-Line team is developing their home made F3 all the time. In Assen Sergey had a new rear floor / diffuser that seemed to work great. I wonder how fast Jesse would have been if his car had the latest updates... Quite interesting driver swap thingy prior to Assen btw: Bernd Herndlhofer from HS to Jo Zeller, Zahir Ali from Zeller to Performance and Rafael Suzuki from Performance to HS |

ATS boys are at Nurburgring this weekend as a support event to the Le Mans 1000 Km race...
Points leader Laurens Vanthoor had the pole for race 1 & went on to take the race win - his 10th for the season... Race 2 pole went to Tom Dillmann - qualifying was wet. Vanthoor was 10th, which should mean for an interesting race... |

Four races to go but Vanthoor already secured the championship.
Tom Dillmann won the race 2, Tim Sandtler 2nd... Stef Dusseldorp was 3rd. If he had won the race, he would still had a theoretical chance for the championship. Champion Vanthoor finished outside the points on 12th position. Two double victories for Art-Line in Trophy: Chukanov-Krohn in race 1, Krohn-Chuka in race 2. In race 1 Chukanov scored one more Cup point for Art-Line finishing 8th. The Ukrainian seems to be the champ in Trophy. Only Lopez still has a chance (in theory): 4 races to go and 39 points margin in standings. Mika Vähämäki took two third places today and is now only 2 points behind Lopez. |
