6000bhp at the 2003 Festival of Speed!

For the first time, the Festival of Speed at Goodwood House in July will feature a top fuel dragster, performing smoky burnouts from its 6000+bhp nitro engine.
Here is a photo of the recent press day when Lord March tried the top fueller of Daryl Bradford for size.
It was parked between a Schumacher Ferrari and a DC McLaren.
The drag racing boys had great pleasure in explaining to the massed media that the bhp of both of the F1 cars combined was the same power output as two of the dragsters eight cylinders!
Lord March did not seem worried that the windows of Goodwood House might be blown out by the experience!
We were all impressed by the dragsters last year - but they were babies - ' only' 2000 bhp each.
Goodwood will not have heard anything like this!
