Safety first

Going to fit a roll cage in my mkII golf gti. Welded or bolted and why.

Anyone know what the best option would be and why.

Also, excuse my ignorance but is there any way of uping power through engine managment gizmos.

Really want to just get the handling and safety sorted first but it don't hurt to enquire for the future.

I anyone has answers to these questions I love some answers.

I have a modified mk2 Golf GTi 16v Track Car and so have done pretty much everything you are doing now.

It has all the answers to the questions you have asked here.

Go to the engine section and look at the 2Litre 16v thread at the top.

Regarding the engine management Gizmo's the simple answer is no. You can not chip the 16v ecu, or atleast with anything that will give you worth while results.

The only Chip you can really use is K-Star. It allows fuel and ignition timing but its not produced anymore and isn't really worth while unless you have modified other parts of the engine such as cams.

For now I'd stick with sorting the cage, suspension, brakes and get some sticky tyres.
